4.0 out of 5 stars Works well. A little expensive.
I have had zero problems with it. Performance will vary from user to user. I think it all depends on your wiring and distance between the units. Mine are distanced pretty far apart and I haven't seen anything travel faster than ~15Mbps. I have three of my ports taken up and you would think that the switch unit would handle traffic between the four ports pretty quickly,...

2.0 out of 5 stars I'm returning it
This device only works with limited range. I can't get a signal if I move it too far from the base unit. I tried to use from my office to the living room, both on the first floor of my house, different circuits on the same phase, and I could not get any signal.

I have had zero problems with it. Performance will vary from user to user. I think it all depends on your wiring and distance between the units. Mine are distanced pretty far apart and I haven't seen anything travel faster than ~15Mbps. I have three of my ports taken up and you would think that the switch unit would handle traffic between the four ports pretty quickly, but transfer rates are at a constant 10Mbps when copying files from one server to another. Whereas if they were attached to my router, they would copy over at about +45Mbps. So, I don't think the switch is a true switch. I think it is just traveling to my router and then back. I inquired as to whether or not I could attach a second 4-port switch unit to the set and I was told no. However, I was told that you can have more than one kit on the same wiring. Overall, it is a little more than I would like to pay, but worth purchasing.

5.0 out of 5 stars I WILL NOT CONFORM!, June 9, 2010

I had never heard of anything like this product before, nor have I seen anyone else with one. So I took a gamble on this; And guess what? I won. Big time. I had already spent $400 on a XBox 360 Elite, plus $50 for a subscription to XBox Live. I REFUSED to pay another $100 for Microsoft's wireless XBox 360 network adapter. They should have built it into they console like PS3 and Wii, but chose to nickle and dime us to death, charging us ridiculous prices for accessories. Not this time Bill Gates! I opened up my Brite-View box, plugged the either-net cable from my Verizon FIOS wireless router (located upstairs) into the receiver, plugged the receiver into the wall socket, then plugged another either-net cable from my XBox 360 (located downstairs) into the 4-way port, plugged the port into the wall socket, turned on the XBox, and I was logged into XBox Live in about half a second! Played some Modern Warfare 2 with absolutely no lag. Watched some video content too. Best decision I've ever made! And I can use the other ports for other things like Blu-ray, or another computer. TAKE THAT! MICROSOFT!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product, May 15, 2010

I own the Brite-View PowerOver Ethernet adpapter with the 4 port switch. It is a GREAT product. I used to do streaming from my Macbook to my PS3 via WIFI and i often had to reset my router or had skipping issues. I decided to give this product a try and could not be happier, just hooked it up and it WORKED, no configuration what so ever was needed.
Great for HD streaming and easy setup 5 starts from me!

I have used the 85 Mbps version of another brand. I get told we will only get 35% of speed listed. No surprise we will get 65 Mpbs out of a 200 Mbps unit. I had a experience recently spent 60 min to download a 550 MB file using Wireless N. I only spent no more than 7 min using this 200 Mbps unit. That makes a differences.

I liked that this product had a 4-port adapter. I needed something that would allow me to connect all of the stuff (Tivo, Wii, Sony Blu-Ray player) in my home entertainment cabinet without pulling cables. This was plug-it-in-and-it-works simple. I also used an additional 1-port adapter to connect a second Tivo in a different room. Both Tivos successfully update and can exchange shows/movies. And my wife is glad that I don't have that 50 foot cable snaking through the hallway and down the stairs anymore.

4.0 out of 5 stars works ok, December 8, 2010
This review is from: Brite-View LinkE BV-210C Digital Home Powerline Ethernet Adapters 1-port Bridge and 4-port Switch (White) (Personal Computers)
I bought this one a month back since it has a 4 port switch attached. I use it to connect xbox to internet for streaming espn/netflix and also for TV/videos(I use windows media center). It works well on most sockets except a couple of sockets in my apartment where the performance is very poor. Not sure if its a product issue or there is a real interference/noise in those socket wiring.

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerline Ethernet Extender WORKS, June 25, 2010

I needed to connect my Panasonic BluRay, in the family room, to my internet router, in a different part of the house. The utility company had used another powerline modem so I figured why not try this one?
IT WORKS - no interference, no problems. I bypassed an extention cord for the modem, as recomended, but it might have worked with it. Overall I would recomend this product to anyone needing to extend the reach of their high data rate ethernet!

I got it to work but disappointing performance. Plug-in both switch and router on the same wall socket and got 4 Mbits (0.55MBytes) transfer speed. If there is any distance between the router and switch, transfer speed reduced down to 1 Mbits per second.

Online manual is confusing due to different hardware behavior compare to descriptions in the manual (LED flashing behaviors).

House is 16 years old so wiring shouldn't be the problem. All major appliances are either placed on power-strip with noise filter per manufacture's suggestion or unplugged for speed testing purpose.

March 2011 Update: The 4 port hub died on me around end of October of 2010, I contacted Brite-view's customer support and was able to get a new one. It was not the one that was broken thou. Since it bigger in size then my original. Never the less it works fine now, if it breaks again, I would buy it again, because its works so well, and we can't live without it now.

Aug 9th Update: Still working great. Saved me money from getting a wireless adapter for my new Blu-Ray player getting on to the internet. Plays everything up to 720p, does not work well with 1080p, obviously not enough bandwidth to do that.

I got this to pair up with Brite-view's 5005HD, works great. Just plug & play, before I thought there must be something else to do, but I was surprised when everything worked without me doing anything. I'm getting good speed too, 197KB/s. Now I can just share anything on my pc, and watch it straight on my living room TV.
