Good Compliment to a chart and possible substitute, February 26, 2009
This review is from: Volume 1: British Columbia's South Coast and East Vancouver Island (Spiral-bound)
A friend and I have been planning a circumnavigation of Vancouver Island by kayak. We concluded that this was a great substitute for caring lots of charts.
Great features:
Already marked and color coded for important features.
Legend for Symbols.
Shows; various campsites, marinas, trails, Picnic, IR, boat ramps and more
Shows some geographical features such as intertidal zones, rocks, creeks and rocks.
Waterproof
Compact
Negative features:
No elevation lines and water depth.
Charts are more detailed in showing geographic and bathymetric features.
I found one error on page 45. East Thurlow I and West Thurlow Island have been switched.
Over all I recommend the BC Atlas as a companion to charts and quick and easy reference on the water.
