Book Description

BLUE AFRICA a historical romance set in British East Africa, 1897. In the Victorian era, when men ruled the scientific world, one woman dared to go against convention. Miss Cassandra Littlemen is determined to capture butterflies and send them back to England, so she sneaks onto a royally-funded expedition in British East Africa dressed as her brother. But to her dismay, she finds her partner is not a doddering old man, but a young bachelor with secret ties to the British monarchy. Will he figure out her true identity and send her home to an unwanted wedding that she is hoping to avoid? Newly knighted and secretly engaged to Queen Victoria's granddaughter, Sir William Keep, has been sent to Africa to prove his worth. He is unwavering in his efforts to achieve great scientific findings like his famous father. Although this desire has lead him to agree to a royal match and a royal life he’s not sure he is fit for. But first, William must get this headstrong Miss Littlemen back to England before Queen Victoria finds out. But can he do it before he loses his heart to this lovely blue butterfly catcher

Cassandra was raised in the home of a scientist. She loved the study of Entomology. Her father would never allow her in the study as he taught his sons this subject, but, not his only daughter. The younger brother was touched by her desire to learn and taught her secretly. When he became ill, she decided to fulfill his dream of studing in Africa. So, cutting her beautiful hair and dressing as a man...well, who would ever suspect she was a woman? And how was she to know the renowned scientist she was to work with had not gone to Africa and that his handsome son was his replacement. Both Cassandra and William have secrets they do not wish to be discovered. Her adventure eventually turns into a disaster that keeps you in suspense.

This was a very interesting story, well researched and written. I enjoyed this author's style and would like to read more of her works.

5.0 out of 5 stars Blue Africa is a Good Read March 8, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
"Blue Africa," by Therese Stenzel is a well written, heart-warning Inspirational romantic saga about a young English woman, Cassandra Littlemen, in South Africa during 1895.

Cassandra must pursue her dream to be a scientist and study butterflies by disguising herself as her brother, Benjamin. Alas, there was no amount of boyish garb that could camouflage her feminine good-looks and nature.

When Sir William Keep fails to deter Cassandra from her ruse of posing as a member of his royal expedition by over burdening her with mundane chores, he develops respect for her dedication and intelligence, for she proves to be a competent, even exceptional, scientist.

In the beautifully described landscapes of South Africa love blooms amidst a small scientific camp commissioned by the Queen of England. But Cassandra and William must overcome mishaps and miss-matched relationships before they can declare their love.

Though this story is set back in time 120 years, its two primary messages are just as relevant today: to be true to the passion God planted in us, and to trust in Him, and not our own strength, to plan and guide our life.

Simmer a cup of tea and sink into the pages of "Blue Africa," by Therese Stenzel. You'll have a good read.

Best book I have read in a long time.
I could not put it down. One really went through all the emotions with the main characters. I really appreciate the author's effort to maintain high Christian morals and teach one what it means to trust completely in God.
Thank you Therese for bringing the gospel message through your writings which are most interesting in themselves. I shall definitely be looking out for more books by this author.
