I love these British String Miniatures, June 22, 2004

this is a lovely and easy to listen to popular form of orchestral music. I find it charming and buy albums of modern string miniatures whenever I can. The first piece by Purcell is a five part treat of dances. The rest is sometimes deep emotions, mostly light but serious and pleasant. An eminently English genre for modernists who like there to be tunes and emotive expression in some kind of string narrative.Working at home as I do, these are the light break I need.
