4.0 out of 5 stars STOP! Go back and buy the Japanese version of this CD!
Why? Because it's cheaper and it has the SAME EXACT TRACKS as this. Not only that, but the Japanese release comes with a BONUS booklet with pictures, lyrics, credits and more! Don't waste your money on this one and go get the other one. Besides, the cover picture is better on the other one. You see this cover picture everywhere else.

3.0 out of 5 stars Okay, but not exceptional
If all of the songs were at the same level as "...Baby One More Time" I'd have given it a 4, but with the other material on this disc, a 3 was about all I could bring myself to give. Britney herself has a lot of talent, but somebody needs to help her management pick some better songs for her to sing. And a little more emotion and a little less number...

5.0 out of 5 stars A Beautiful CD; Much Imrpoved From The US Version, July 7, 2001
By
"raidramon247" (Somewhere In Space...) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Britney Spears: Baby One More Time (Audio CD)
Now, I have almost all of Britney's CD's. This is my second favorite one, celarly because it has a lot of the good songs in it that wasn't included in the US Version. I'll give a rating out of ten for each of the songs included.

1) ...Baby One More Time - The song that started it all. Defidently the most funkiest Britney Spear's song I have ever heard by her. 7/10

2) (You Drive Me) Crazy! - To tell you the truth, I dispise this version og the song. I prefer the stop remix over this. 5/10

3) Sometimes - I love this song. It is so sweet and calm. The music video is very relaxing and warm 9/10

4) Soda Pop - A good party song to hear. 6/10

5) Born to Make You Happy - This Is INCREDIBLE! I love the lyrics and her vocals. It is so sweet and cool. Defedentiley the best song on this CD 10/10

6) From the Bottom Of My Broken Heart - A song that i first couldn't stand that I know love and enjoy. 9/10

7) I Will Be There - Another great party song to hear. My second favorite on this CD 9.5/10

8) I Will Still Love You - This song is kindda .... I actually don't like this song, a duet kindda .... 3/10

9) Deep In My Heart - A great song that was not included that should have been. If theyhad to cut a song because of the enchanced format, they should have cut I will still love you. 9.5/10

10) Thinkin' About You - A cool party song. 6.5/10

11) E-mail My Heart - A lovely song to hear, but a corny title. 9/10

12) The Beat Goes On - A funky song. 5/10

13) I'll Never Stop Loving You - I Love this song! Beautiful and creative. 10/10

14) Autumn Goodbye - The first bonus track I totally loved. Good song if you're in the blues. 10/10

15) BOMT David Ospina's Radio Mix - A great beat. 7/10

160 BOMT Boy Wunder Raido Mix - Pretty good. 7/10

There u have it. I recomend u get this fabulous CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars 1 of the best!, April 27, 2000
By A Customer
This cd is great, but don't take my word for it, cheak it out for yourself. If you're still not sure about the songs, here are 11 little reviews:

Baby 1 More Time- The third best song on the album. This was the song that got her popular first, NO WONDER! It's so upbeat and has terrific backround music. 5/5

(You Drive Me) Crazy- The fifth best song on the CD. I like the remix better, but it's still Fab! 5/5

Sometimes- The fourth best song. Britney has really outdone herself with the slow songs, she does much better than Christina here. 5/5

Soda Pop- There's no doubt about it, this song is GREAT! But it's only second best. I love the party sound to it. It's VERY cool. 5/5

Born To Make U Happy- This song is absoluty the BEST song on the whole album! I love her voice in this song. No one else's soft sngs can compare with this one! 6/5

From The Bottom Of My Broken Heart- Another great soft song. There's no possible way that Christina's song "I Turn To You" can surpass this one, I'd like to see her try! 5/5

I Will Be There- Another great song. I love the upbeat sound and her voice in this song to 5/5

I Will Still Love You- At first, I wasn't to fond of this song, but hey, I love it! I love the lyrics. Britney & Don make quite a duo. 5/5

Thinkin' About You- Not the best song in the world, but okay. I really don't like the way it starts out but it turns out okay. 4/5

E-mail My Heart- C'mon Britney, you can do better! I'm really not that fond of this song, but it's far better than any Christina song I've ever heard. 3/5

The Beat Goes On- Returning to the sixties with Sonny & Cher. I think this remake is much better than the origonal. It's far better than Madona's remake of "American Pie" or Sixpence None The Richer's remake of "There She Goes". 5/5

Average Score: 4.8

Total Score: 53/55

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great CD, April 4, 2000
By
Tom (Baltimore, Maryland- USA) - See all my reviews
Ok, most people give 2-3 stars, and some give higher or lower, but i gave this 5 stars because of the fact that i love this CD. Britney worked hard on this, she has a great voice, interesting lyrics, and good background music. I like most of her songs, except for "Email my heart", which isnt that bad but still, and "I will still love you" is sort of bad and annoying.Other than that there are 9 other songs, which i think are all great.

Baby one more time- This song is a great song to listen to, sometimes you cant stand it, but most of the time it is great.

Drive me Crazy- This is one of my 3 favorite songs on the cd, it is fast, catchy, and there is a great tune to it.

Sometimes- This is a really good song. The singing in it is great and its lyrics go beautifully with the rest of the song

Born to make you happy- One of my other favorite songs on the CD, it is a great song, i love the lyrics and Britney's voice in this is wonderful.

FTBOMBH- This is a really sweet song, i loved it and its got great lyric/song mixture

I Will be there- This is my other favorite song, it is fast and its an all around cool song.

I will still love you- This duet is kind of good, but it still needed alot of work from the other side, britney was great.

Thinkin About You- This song was good, and i liked how the music/lyrics go together.

E-mail my heart- This song was really great, but the lyricist could have done a much better job picking something besides Email as a song.

The beat goes on- This song was just cool, its a nice song to dance to, and i guess it was a sort of bye from Britney.

After reviewing each song I'd just like to say that i love this CD, and after recently seeing her in concert i can tell you she is really talented and i hope she keeps going with new CDs and excellent music

If all of the songs were at the same level as "...Baby One More Time" I'd have given it a 4, but with the other material on this disc, a 3 was about all I could bring myself to give. Britney herself has a lot of talent, but somebody needs to help her management pick some better songs for her to sing. And a little more emotion and a little less number crunching wouldn't hurt either. Some of the other songs besides BOMT don't immediately impress, but will grow on you after you've heard them a few times, such as "(You Drive Me) Crazy". Others ("I Will Still Love You" and "The Beat Goes On") are quite forgettable, and a couple ("E-mail my heart", for one) are marked in my CD player to be skipped -- permanently. I'm sure Britney herself could write much better songs if she was given the chance. If I had my way (and she had hers) perhaps her next CD will provide that opportunity. Overall: A CD worth having if you like to collect CDs or know and like at least two of its songs, but it probably won't get worn out from use. Eagerly awaiting her next disc.

5.0 out of 5 stars Britney Spears-Pop Princess, November 17, 2005
When I first heard "Baby One More Time", I rejoyced. Finally, a pop princess for my generation. She can sing, dance, and videos are wonderful. Despite all the backlash (specifically the hater known as Misterjaw who refers to her as Bratney Sneers), I love her music. People are for the most part just jealous of her and insult her to make themselves feel good. It's not easy being in the public eye, and obviously Misterjaw doesn't know that.

4.0 out of 5 stars Britney fever started here, September 29, 2005
People say she isn't talented, but how can you explain her dance abilities? She's a great dancer and entertainer. Put me on stage to sing and my legs would get tied together!

I bought ...Baby One More Time when I was in high school. Britney and I are nearly the same age. We both developed similairly as well so I really identified with this album at the time.

It's a great poppy collection and really fun to listen to as it reminds me of high school.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not bad-for a teenager, November 2, 2003
By
I think over the years Britney has produced really, well, bad CD's. She's turned more into some model product but on this CD it's all clean, no belly tops. Here's a quick grading of the songs:

1*Baby one more time*9/10*Really catchy!

2*(You Drive Me) Crazy*10/10*Fun to dance to and probably best fast song on the cD!

3*Sometimes*10/10*Really sweet ballad! My least favorite ballad but still really awesome!

4*Soda Pop*3/10*This song makes no sense and is terrible!

5*Born to Make you Happy*10/10*My favorite ballad! It's catchy and sweet at the same time!

6*From the Bottom of my Broken Heart*9/10*Britney's longest song she has ever made (5:25). i used to hate it, but now I see how beautiful and sad it is! My 2nd fave ballad

7*I Will Be There*8/10*Extremely catchy but not my favorite-love the guitar though!

8*I Will still Love you*4/10*Britney's weakest song (besides soda pop). Her voice is good but don Phillips is terrrible1 you'll see what I mean.

9*Thinkin' About you*6/10*It's catchy but all she really says is the chorus.

10*E-Mail my heart*7.5/10*Corny title but the song is OK and a little corny. But it is sweet too. My second least favorite ballad.

11*Beat Goes On*8/10*AWESOME beat but the song gets annoying--whats with the birds in the backround??

Overall-9/10...the songs are great up to #7. AVOID numbers 4, 8, and 10! Please! But hey this is my favorite album by Britney-actually the only one i LIKE at all!

4.0 out of 5 stars You have to give her credit for some things, May 4, 2000
First of all, any cd that sells 12+ million copies is either a really good singer or a good scam artist. I personally believe that she is a good artist. Yes, she does need help with her singing but the songwriting is excellent and she is extremely actractive. Any guy who can't say that Britney Spears is hot is either blind or just weird. So, because of those two factors, ...Baby One More Time has sold 12+ million copies. You have to give her credit for another thing. She opened the door for females in the pop industry. Without her, Christina Agularia wouldn't be as big, neither would Mandy Moore, Jessica Simpson, and whoever else decides to join the bandwagon.

I guess I enjoy pop music. I really enjoy this cd and probably will buy Oops I Did It Again as well. As far as a track by track overview here it is.

1...Baby One More Time-This song is what started the craze. I kinda like this song. It was a good choice for a first single 2. (You Drive Me) Crazy-I really like this song, especially the guitar solo in the middle of the song. Awesome. 3. Sometimes-Personally I don't like it. I heard it too much and it got annoying. 4. Soda Pop-I think this song is ok. It is a completely different style. 5. Born To Make You Happy-This is the song. This is the song that makes me say mmm Britney! Absoulutely without a doubt, the best song. 6. From The Bottom of My Broken Heart-I have heard alot of people say they were disappointed with the song. I kinda like it. It's Ok 7. I Will Be There-This is a pretty good song. It is basically just filler material 8. I Will Still Love You-Pretty Good 9. Thinking About You-This is the song that she released kinda half-heartedly. It is pretty good. 10. E-mail my Heart-I love this song. It really applys to this generation. It is very well written. 11. The Beat Goes On-I don't really like it. It is kinda dumb.

Anyone who has doubts about buying this cd should just go and buy it. You wont regret it.

2.0 out of 5 stars No long-term future for her..., September 9, 2000
A Kid's Review
When I first got this CD, I thought it was great. The songs were catchy. But now, I regret, and it's collecting dust while my 98 Degrees and Will Smith CD's are getting all the spins. Here's why:

Her songs are great at first, because you don't really pay attention to the lyrics. But when you do, it's sickening. In "Baby One More Time", it's like pretty guys are the source for her oxygen. And people are wondering why girl-morale is at an all-time low. No, it's not because the NBA and NHL don't let no females join. It's because of celebrities who send the wrong message. I'm a boy, a 12 year old boy, to be specific. And since Britney Spears, Mandy Moore and Jessica Simpson came out, I've been noticing my classmate girls paying so much attention to their bodies and not their intellect. Argh! It's pure sickening. I do not count Christina Aguilera as a stupid pop fad because she does have talent, while in the midst of the teenpop wars, just like 98 Degrees.

The reason why Britney is so popular, I'm sorry to say, is that guys are more perverts than girls. Sure, girls will say, "Oh! I wish I was married to Justin Timberlake, and he's always shirtless". But perverted, twisted guys would say, "Man, I wish I had just one night with hot Britney". Blech!

All in all, she has no future, when her good looks fade away. Yes, she is quite pretty, although I can name a lot of people who look better. I wish she'd stop acting like a hooker all the time. She's only 18. Her voice is thin as Saran-wrap. When she tries to higher her voice, it sounds like a vinyl record being scratched. She should've just gone into modelling or something. She's definitely not cut out to be a singer, or god forbig, and actress.
