5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious and a Fun Read
You know.... There are books that are supposed to help you learn something, then there are books that are fun. This one is pure fun!

Written with the Barney Stintson style, it lists rules for men hanging out with dudes to live by in a funny way. A typical page is one sentence long. Some pages have examples and diagrams that add to the experience...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good for a couple laughs
It's essentially a diluted version of Barney's philosophy in How I Met Your Mother. The jokes are not quite as funny as when delivered in the TV show, but there are a couple entertaining ones.

This book isn't some quick, half-hearted cash-in for How I Met Your Mother Fans, it's basically Barney Stinson in paperback form. The Bro Code is hilarious. If you're a fan of the show you'll likely hear Neil Patrick Harris' voice in your head as you read the book cover-to-cover. With diagrams, footnotes, and over 150 "codes" written by the show's writers, this is a can't miss book.

This review is from: The Bro Code (Paperback)
This book embodies what it means to be a bro, how to act like a bro, and even proper punishment for violation of bro code. Besides countless laughs this book does in fact set a good standard for bro's to follow

5.0 out of 5 stars Son's favorite Christmas present, January 13, 2011
This review is from: The Bro Code [BRO CODE -OS] (Paperback)
My 19 year old son asked for this book for Christmas, as this was the first time in his life he asked for a book as a gift, I went directly to Amazon and bought it along a couple of books for myself for free shipping. On Christmas evening he was reading this book, chuckling frequently and occasionally reading parts out loud. He posted this book on line as one of his favorite presents. I confess that before I wrapped it, I read about 30 pages. The humor is adult in content and women who lack a sense of humor could be offended; this is NOT a politically correct book, but it IS REALLY very funny. A quick and entertaining read.

I originally found a copy of this book on my Third Deployment to Iraq. I had thumbed through it at the Free Books area of the MWR. I read it cover to cover in a couple of hours. Even though it is a very short book I thought it was very funny and well thought out. I had never seen the Show, (How I Met your Mother) before and this book sucked me in. It is fun to watch as Barney Stinson quotes the Bro Code although not in precise order as the book but accurately enough also fun to watch as he breaks the Code on many occasions. The Show is one of the funniest shows on TV in my opinion. The Characters have depth; you want to see them succeed. It is a Smart and Funny comedy The Bro Code is a Smart and Funny Book. I recommend this to any fan of the Show or if you haven't seen the Show get the book as I did and then start watching from season 1.

If you are a fan of How I met your Mother odds are you will enjoy this audio book.

The way "Barney" reads out Chapter Headings in a silly voice is a bit annoying but otherwise it's very amusing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Penetrating Parody, March 25, 2009
This review is from: The Bro Code (Audio CD)
The premise: we are all presided over by innate rules of conduct and behavior - some call it morality - but Bros in the know call it the Bro Code. This side-splitting prize comes fully loaded with penetrating parody. Although a quick read, "The Bro Code" is suitably weighted with entertaining one-liners. Men, keep this awesome book on your coffee table, or your desk. Women, buy this book for a peak into the psyche of a Bro in the know. This effortless and gratifying book makes a great gift.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's Gonna Be Lengendary!, January 26, 2009

This review is from: The Bro Code (Audio CD)
The Bro Code, as an audio book, is a brilliant thing, indeed. The writing itself is clever and very HIMYM, or--to be more specific--very Barney. Not only does Matt Kuhn (er, Barney) supply readers with ample material to laugh at and enjoy, he also rewards loyal fans with references to things that have occurred throughout the series' colorful seasons. Furthermore, he had me picturing the characters in an array of hilarious new situations that could arise from the ideas presented in The Code. I read the book first and the narration by Neil Patrick Harris makes the many articles of The Code jump off the page. He manages to bring Barney's personality very convincingly to life through voice alone. I would recommend this audio book to all who are fans of the show or simply wish to have a good laugh.
