Offtrack Radio, hosted by Germany's Dirk Rumpff, is part of a musical subculture that pulses below the radar. A subculture where genres are cast aside for quality music with an urban sensibility and a fusion of electronics with acoustics. For 10 years Offtrack Radio has stimulated ears across the globe (and beyond?) with impeccably selected music from various sources: bedroom producers, live bands, DJs and rappers. This compilation does an admirable job in reflecting the broadcast, with a rare blend of "pearls" by the likes of Trickski, Mark Pritchard, Steve Spacek, Fat Freddy's Drop, Slope and Clara Hill. Many of the songs featured are exclusives and all are outstanding. Think of your favorite mixtape, with various styles and moods, and you've got an idea of how this CD sounds. It's mellow, uptempo, soulful and introspective. A great taste of Offtrack and Sonar Kollektiv.
