A must for all Broadway fans big and small,

This review is from: Broadway Kids: Sing Broadway (Audio CD)
I've been a Broadway junkie for years and I bought this for my daughter and she loves it. It's such a pleasure to listen to professionally trained singers, not pop-star wannabees, tackle these songs. If you want to expose your kids to well-written music done by kids in the profession, this CD is a great way to introduce them to the world of Broadway. If you're already a theatre buff, it's a lot of fun to hear the selections they chose for this group of talented, not annoying, kids. There's even a couple of songs on the CD that I've never heard, and I've got quite a Broadway CD collection. As I write this I'm in the process of ordering one for my niece for her birthday. Get it for the kids in your life!

A great song selection,
This review is from: Broadway Kids: Sing Broadway (Audio CD)
I bought this CD as my daughter loves Broadway type singing, and also because I am so tired of CDs of kids singing that really can't sing. It appealed to me that PROFESSIONALS were singing on this CD---not off-key cute sounding toddlers. I wasn't disappointed---the singing is skillful, and I am especially impressed with the song selection. I listen to a fair amount of Broadway, and there were a few songs I'd never heard before and liked a lot, and a few others I'd heard many, many times and love. A good mix! The selections from Les Miz were great, as were those from Oliver---the rousing Consider Yourself At Home is terrific! The only song I didn't really care for was Mother A Rainbow, but that's just personal preference.
I don't know why so many CDs for kids with singing kids are done so poorly. I wish more were like this. There are many talented kids out there, and they are the ones I'd like my kids to emulate when singing! |
