Ever since I saw Ron Raines in "A tribute to Rogers and Hammerstein in Baltimore, I have played this album over and over. The songs are great and it puts me in a good mood for the day.

This is a very good collection of baritone classics from all time favorite musicals. Raines voice has a velvety quality that is easy to listen to, and his attention to phrasing is quite refreshing. I highly recommend this cd.

There are very few strong voices on Broadway of late that make you remember the days of Howard Keel, etc. and the great era of Broadway songs. Ron Raines pays tribute to all of your favorites and does not disappoint! His voice is rich and clear, and takes you back to the stage with just a few notes. For those who have the opportunity to hear him sing live -- definitely do not miss your chance. Ron is even better live, and is a treat to his fans off-stage as well. I saw him in October of 2002 last and he IS working on a new album to be finished in the spring. It will definitely be on my "pre-order" list!! Kudos Ron!! You are the best!!! Now if only we could get Guiding Light to let you sing this holiday season.....

Raines' medley provides a number of wonderful Broadway songs that are difficult to find elsewhere from shows as diverse as Carousel and Mack and Mabel. He sings every piece with personality and passion. A must have for everyone who shares Raines' love for Broadway!

It is so refreshing to hear a guy with a real voice that has depth and emotion sing these great songs. If you miss Robert Goulet, Harve Presnel, etc, this is for you. Not one of the thin tinny voices that passes on the stage these days. You get the feeling and volume these songs require.

As a lover of great singers and faithful interpretations of songs from the stage, I can't imagine a better album than this one. Mr. Raines not only possesses what might be the PERFECT Broadway voice (strong and expressive -- accomplished, but not overly operatic), he also interprets these songs beautifully and true to their origins (no note or lyric changing, etc...). As a giant plus, he also uses the original orchestrations for all songs (which EVERY singer should).

Mr. Raines is currently featured on PBS' "Evening at Pops," singing "Soliloquy" from "Carousel" - maybe the best version ever of a legendary song. (Why has he appeared on Broadway so little? Hey, Mr. Producer... hire the guy... he's the best around.)

I had the opportunity recently to hear Ron Raines in person at Grant Park in Chicago. What a wonderful singer he is! The crowd went wild, and so did I. I've been watching Ron on the Guiding Light since he started seven years ago, and had never heard him sing. I can't tell you how much I enjoy his singing. I also had the pleasure of personally meeting Ron after the concert and even got two pictures taken (a fun souvenir). He is as delightful a person as he is a singer and I wish he would sing even more, perhaps another CD and/or especially another appearance in Chicago! His baritone voice is clear, smooth, powerful, articulate, animated and just great! I can't say much more than that. Sue Frazier.

Ron Raines proves that he is not just a great actor, but he has fantastic voice quality with his"Broadway Passions!" He sounds like Robert Goulet, Robert Preston, Ezio Pinza, and Gordon MacRae all wrapped up in one terrific and heart-warming arrangement of the very best of Broadway! His voice is top-notch in my book...in fact, I have told so many of my friends about this CD, that it is often difficult to obtain! I am so glad that I can order what I need here at Amazon. Thanks!

Ron Raines' singing is out of this world. This tape showcases his amazing talent. Anyone who loves the Broadway hits will be more than pleased with his renditions.

A Five Star rating is hardly sufficient to rate this magnificent performance of Mr. Raines. His extraordinary Baritone voice is even from top to bottom and his delivery is of the finest quality! If I had my preference of ratings, I would award his performance on this CD a solid TEN!!
