This fan can be a little loud with the vibrations not too bad sounds like a fan but you can hear it from the inside.

Attic is now considerably cooler, resulting in a cooler house, and lower cooling costs.

The fan arrived safe and quickly in the original factory box. This is a replacement for another fan in the same location, same mount.
Quiet fan in final installation (see below).
Works as expected cooling attic (too early to comment on life).
Normal/easy mount.
Excellent price.

Application specific comments:
MOUNT: I did have to get into the attic and access the fan twice. The first thermostat setting did not turn on the fan by 11AM here in FL (should go on by ~9AM on a sunny day). So while I was up in the attic resetting the Tstat, I took the time to redo the mounts. I used a home made isolating rubber type spacer between the mounting ears and the wall. This significantly reduced the noise transmitted from the fan to the house. Now all I hear is the actual sound of the fan blades with little or no vibration resonating in the house or wall.
TSTAT SETTING: This fan has the thermostat permanently mounted inside the fan shroud. The other fans I have used the thermostat was mounted on the wall outside the shroud. I believe the remote mount increases the temperature that the fan/thermostat "sees". Inside the shroud you are closer to the gable vent and in the air flow both of which I believe lowers the appearant temperature the thermostat sees. If you are doing a replacement, you may need to reduce the temperature setting.
ASSEMBLY: Easy to assemble as expected. I was not real comfortable with the mounting ear screws which stuck into the fan blade area. This left very little clearance between the fan and the screws. The other fans I used were either nut/bolts or just had the head in the fan area intruding much less. This was a non-issue in my installation as it turned out.
DON'T BUY THE PLASTIC GABLE END VENT FAN! It is a better design, lighter weight, more rigid but the motor does not have adequate life (<3 years in FL).

UPDATE: VIDEO ADDED AUGUST 18TH 2012 - After almost a year it is still working just fine. I plugged it back in late April and my house feels great. A visitor to my house thought I had the air conditioner on, I told her nope, "It's my Attic fan." It feels that cool downstairs. It has been a record August with 108-103 degree heat all week and the fan has been running 24/7 for the last 16 days or so. The house stays cool all day and by 6 pm it gets to about 85 degrees upstairs and I turn my A/C on around 7 pm to cool the house down a bit more. I can leave my thermostat at 82 degrees and the house feels fine.

Very easy to install, took 20 minutes. Set it up and put the thermostat to 90. It gets hot here in
Pomona Ca. I live in a two story house. Before I installed the fan the thermostat upstairs would read 90 sometimes 93 degrees in the Summer if I left the air off. So far in the peak heat of 100 degrees it hasn't gotten above 82. Most of the time it stays below 80. The fan does what it says. My house has never been cooler.

It was very easy to install. I actually took a high quality extension cord and cut the head of the plug off, not the end that plugs into the socket but the end used to plug in say a vacuum cleaner. I then took the wires and matched them up on the fan and spiced them together, carefully capping the wires and then I strung the cord up to my outlet. No hard wiring needed.

I purchased and had an electrician install two of these fans as replacements. Installation was fast with no problems. The fans have been quietly spinning their little electric hearts out in this hot weather, coming on and going off according to the setting on the built-in thermostat. I highly recommend them.

Unit comes complete, ready for installation. Instructions are good.
Unit is not as powerful as I would like but is what I ordered. I would buy again but with a higher hp motor.

Last Fall I ordered the 1,600 CFM Broan Model #35316 from Amazon, but this Spring found that it was just too powerful for my small 1,100 sq. ft. home. I ordered and installed the smaller 1,140 CFM Broan Model #353 and like it much better. It exhausts plenty of air, and is large enough for my size attic. It's also quieter than the more powerful Broan #35316.

I guess this was just a case where "bigger" wasn't "better!"

This little fan is incredible. It was very easy to install although I already had the perfect structure for it as it was part of the building plan. I have two gable vents; one for intake and the other for this fan. I installed it as the picture shown here. It is very quiet; the sound is softer than the actual air conditioning. I did add PVC foam rubber insulation (I think used for doors or garage doors) between the studs and the plywood and again on the mounting ears -just in case- and made sure the rim of the fan did not touch the plywood; this is easly done because you can adjust the mounting ears. It took a couple of days going up to the attic to adjust the shutoff thermostat. I recomend you adjust the thermostat from the lowest temperature setting to the highest, and now it shuts off at around 11 pm. The ONLY issue I had was with the screws of the mounting ears. Once mounted they are very close to the blade. I should've listened to one of these reviewers who recomended replacing them with nuts and bolts. I bag of six nuts and bolts costs a couple of dollars and very worth it. I also added a shut off switch located as you walk up the attic. I HIGHLY recomend this as well!!
I'm getting my money back in just a couple of months! While my neighbors air conditioning runs all day in this brutal heat, mine doesnt!! I lowered the attic's temperature by 15 degrees and also reduced the dust. Very worth the money and cheaper than adding all those other insulating gadgets.
