This new fan motor is exactly like the old overheated fan motor. It is easy to replace. I reuse the old fan wheel. Pry off the fan wheel with a screw driver. Clean the fan wheel. Also, clean the dust residues built up around the fan housing. You will hear some clicking noise when the fan wheel turns and hits these residues. This clogging might be one of the reasons why the fan motor was overheated and broke. Plug the fan wheel onto the new fan motor. Mount the fan assembly back to the fixture and plug in the 2-prong plug.

Perfect replacement for an old fan motor. saved us $$$ instead of replacement the entire bathroom fan unit. runs quiet.
I do recommend a through cleaning of the fan and housing if you are doing a replacement. It makes a difference with efficiency of new fan.

This is a good motor and was an easy install in my Broan unit. Need to make sure the part number you order is the specific one for your unit. Variations include different shaft lengths, cord lengths and where (which side) the power cord is attached. I returned the first one I ordered and ordered the correct one. My error was that I didn't notice that the part number on the first one was one digit off (..176 IPO ..766) all the others that came up on my search. Moral: check specs and part numbers closely.

Direct replacement for my 1970s vintage bathroom fan.
Was easy to install. The mounting screws fit the fan motor mount.
The fan motor is quiet and has a higher CFM output than the original fan.

Motor was bigger than the old one, shaft was longer which allowed the blower vanes to contact the vent housing. I was able to adjust the vanes (ground off about 1/16 inch to make it work). It was my mistake when ordering, but now it is installed and working fine.

Great item, I bought this motor to replaced my 20 yr. old bathroom vent fan motor, saved me a ton of money, other wise would of have to modify hold housing and/or opening, it works great as the old one did, electrical cord is kind of short, needed to splice it to make it long enough, old fan assembly fit perfectly. Have been working for 5 months with no problems.

I used this as a replacement motor or a Ventline bathroom exhaust fan. The original motor had a splined shaft. I was concerned that this smooth shaft may not grip the fan well enough, but the fit is tight and the fan works perfectly. I needed to reverse the rotation for my fan, which was easy. My only complaint is that this unit has slightly smaller mounting studs than the original. This is not a problem except that this motor does not come with nuts for the mounting studs, so I needed to take a trip to the hardware store for the nuts. This appears to be a good solid motor. It's definitely huskier than the motor it is replacing.

I ordered this back I January installed it in Feb. It is Dec. and it went bad. I am going to submit a claim for return. I just received 2 more and I am going to return them because I didn't look at my purchases until it was too late. I am not sure how long they will last but I got about 10 months out of the 1st one. I don't want to have to do this anymore so I am going to install some new fans in the bathroom. I t is time for a new look anyway
