Product Description

Produces a stunning apple-green whorled head with better taste and texture than most of the finest broccolis. Widely grown and prized in Italy. Grows exceptionally well in cool northern areas. 75-100 days from transplant. Sow seeds indoors ¼" deep. Plant out just before the last frost. Broccoli prefers cool temperatures and a regular supply of water. In many regions it can be grown as both a spring and fall crop.

1.0 out of 5 stars Kale, not broccoli, July 20, 2010
This review is from: Broccoli Romanesco 50 Seeds per Packet - Rare & Unique
I ordered these seeds last year, and planted them this spring. They are kale, not broccoli of any kind. The seeds produced a lot of dark leaves that have the typical embossed texture of dinosaur kale. There is no broccoli head or crown of any kind. If you're looking for Romanesco broccoli, this is NOT the place.

1.0 out of 5 stars NOT Romanesco for me - it was Dinosaur Kale!, February 22, 2010
This review is from: Broccoli Romanesco 50 Seeds per Packet - Rare & Unique
I ordered this last season and grew it out and it turned out to be dinosaur kale - a much less expensive seed and much more common vegetable. Bait and Switch? By the end of the gardening season, I was too busy and too tired to seek a refund for lousey seeds. Buyer beware on these seeds!

This review is from: Broccoli Romanesco 50 Seeds per Packet - Rare & Unique
I planted the seeds the day they came in the mail. I planted them in the greenhouse along with broccoli and cabbage. The cabbage and broccoli came up in 4-7 days. Two of the Romanesco Broccoli came up. It has been over 15 days and if the seeds are going to germinate it would of happened by now. The temperature in the greenhouse it a constant 65-80 degrees. I would like replacement seed or my money back.
