Product Description

SPROUTING SEEDS: Sprouting seeds is an inexpensive and enjoyable way to add nutrition to your meals. The most common way to enjoy sprouts is on sandwiches or in salads. In the dead of winter, sprouts offer a means of producing one's own fresh greens and vegetables, and provide healthful and tasty foodstuffs at a time when vitamin content is lowest in commercial foods.

Broccoli sprouts, with their tangy sweet and sour taste, are great additions to salads, sandwiches, omelets, and dips. 4 ounces.

Grow your own edible sprouts in just a few days. Enjoy the freshest sprouts you have ever tasted--because they're grown right in your kitchen!

Blend sprouts with lettuce to boost the nutrition value of simple salads. Sprouts by themselves make a tasty side salad, or combine them with raw vegetables.

Dress up a humdrum hot dog with broccoli sprouts. Do the same for tacos.

Dress up any sandwich with sprouts. Broccoli sprouts are ideal for cold meat and cheese sandwiches. Also try sprouts instead of lettuce in tacos, burritos, pita sandwiches, and wraps. You'll love the taste and crunch.

Hirts charges WAY too much money for their seeds.
You can get a pound of seeds on any number of sites for the same price that Hirts charges for ounces.

1.0 out of 5 stars These are planting sprouts, NOT eating sprouts, December 17, 2011

Most people don't realize that not all sprouts are good for sprouting for consumption. Those destined for PLANTING are often coated in a pesticide. These are PLANTING sprouts, NOT food sprouts. VERY disappointed that the "sprouting seeds" label on the Amazon page DOES NOT reflect the hand labeled, seeds for PLANTING that I received. I only realized this after becoming sick after trying to eat these. DO NOT BUY THESE for anything but PLANTING broccoli!

this company has very good seeds. at pretty decent prices. next year i am going to use them for planting, because they sprouted beautifully but i didn't love the flavor. i actually planted these and the peas in my garden and they grew beautifully. a little strong for me-i prefer mild alfalfa personally.
