Book Description

Creative Solutions February 1, 2007
New in Paperback!

Brochures: Making a Strong Impression contains a collection of 85 outstanding brochure designs that have proved to be more difficult to nail than most, pieces that have truly pushed designer's creativity and forced them to reach inside.

Each brochure is given one full spread showing the cover and several interiors, along with a valuable yet succinct amount of copy discussing the essence of the piece and the challenge of designing it. Unlike most books on brochures that either provide no context or give an abundant amount of unnecessary information, this book offers the reader an innovative collection of work paired with succinct descriptions that provide context in a format that readers can process quickly.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good book for design inspiration, May 23, 2007

This review is from: Brochures: Making a Strong Impression: 85 Strategies for Message-Driven Design (Creative Solutions) (Paperback)
This is a good book for design inspiration. Some of the brochures seem a little dated which is why I gave it a 3. But the principles that you can get frmo it are good.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not much of an inspiration..., December 10, 2009

This review is from: Brochures: Making a Strong Impression: 85 Strategies for Message-Driven Design (Creative Solutions) (Paperback)
If you're looking for something to get you inspired, this isn' it. It has some good designs, but nothing that makes you admiring and wishing you had done that. Most are average designs, that offer nothing new. Some are pretty bad, actually, resembling early 90's design. Some are just simple, "text on one page, photo on the other" style. Other books like Best of Brochure Design 9, by the same publisher, are much more enticing. Rockport really struck out on this one.
