I've always hated charcoal grilling because of the lack of temperature control and when we had friends in the restaurant business over for a dinner I was at a loss with our charcoal grill. I got by, but I hated the lack of control. Later, I bought an inexpensive natural gas grill and I was hooked. When that grill began to show signs of wear I looked on the internet for repair parts and found that if you wanted a grill to last you needed to look to Canada. The Broil King that I bought is great! All the key parts are high quality stainless steel; the Signet model has the top of the line burners ( I no longer need to think about where the grill is very hot and where it is cool, in a Broil King the heat is so uniform that over any given burner the temperature is the same front to back. Just set different zones a you have what heat you want.).
My wife make fun of that fact that I put grill marks on steaks; over rated I agree, but the high heat does make a real difference. The char is wonderful, not just on meat, but on eggplant and other vegetables . Grill a mix of vegetables covered in olive oil and then splashed balsamic vinegar and be amazed at the results. I expect this unit to last quite long and to serve us quite well. So far I have no complaints and am waiting to try the rotisserie! JHA

This is a good grill but, all is not perfect:
- the "Linear-Flow valves" are not "linear". When turning the valves the flames do not steadily change. In one position when turning the valve down (to decrease the flame) the flames actually increase. My old Kenmore had better valves than this. This is really annoying. It means that every time you try to make fine adjustments you need to peak through the "Flav-R-Wave" to sight the flame and verify that it corresponds to the movement of the valve. A colleague of mine has the same problem on the Broil King Sovereign. - after nearly a year of using it the "chrome" around the Broil King logo and thermometer is beginning to flake off. I know that it will not affect functionality but it just says, "cheap". Also at this point it no longer smells like melting plastic when it gets hot. Other than that I love this grill. Just got my hopes up too high I suppose, thinking that this would be the "perfect grill" based on the slick advertising.

Looked at many grills both online and in specialty stores for grills and barbecue islands. Amazon saved me hundreds on this grill. Have had it over a year now using it with natural gas and cooking on it 4-5 times a week. It is the best grill I have ever had in over 50 years of grilling. It is a little overkill for me as I do not routinely use the side burner and rarely use the rotisserie. But both work very well. Only fault is the odd size disposable approx. 4x5" aluminum drip pans which are a size not stocked at the supermarket.
