About the Artist

HOP, which features band members Joy Rose (founder and lead singer), Kyle Ann Burtt (keyboards/vocals), Donna Kelly (drums), Angela Badin (guitar), Susan Graham (bass) and Gillian Crane (vocals), has delighted audiences for years with their distinctive "domestic goddess" twist of hard-hitting rock, fast-paced disco, rap, blues and ballads. Never missing an occasion to blast away the old stereotypes in tight-fitting leopard spandex, feather boas and big hair –making as much noise as possible – the band has performed in major venues from Giants Stadium to benefit the ALR Foundation and Bryant Park for the Heritage of Pride Rally to Summer-Stage festivals and PTA fundraising events.

Ms. Rose (aka the former downtown art rock performer Peter Blue, of Peter and The Girlfriends Bands), who has survived a twisted trip through illness, chemotherapy and giving birth to four children in five years, and the band continue to bring fans the powerful message of personal freedom, creativity and importance of making the most noise possible in the shortest amount of time.

I've seen HOP in concert a couple times and they're really fun. Super stong Manhatan musicians fronted by big-haired, long legged Joy Rose who rules the stage. Great hooks, powerful message, and FUN. The live songs really capture what the band is about.
