Book Description

September 28, 1998
When the reception for Madame Dextra Haven erupted in a bloodbath, the offworlders quickly realized that Aquamarine's natives were not to be underestimated. But the Aquam were not the only dangers to the Periapt forces. A menace from within her own troops could drastically alter Haven's beneficial plans for Aquamarine--and the secret cyber-personality buried deep within the recesses of one man's mind could be the key to communicating with the terrifying sentient water-entity controlling the planet.

With declining resources and limited firepower, the GammaLAW mission faced utter failure, but Haven and her Exts weren't about to give up without a fight--even if it could be their last . . .

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

"The location and technology of future wars may change dramatically but soldiers of every era will recognize the warriors Brian Daley so vividly portrays in this realistic, exciting, and though-provoking saga. From the opening paragraph--perhaps the most skilled lead into any combat story yet written--to the conclusion, this is SF at its best."

--Lt. Col. Michael Lee Lanning, US ARmy (Ret.), author of The Only War We Had, Inside the LRRP's, and Inside Force Recon.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Broken Country (Gammalaw/Brian Daley, Bk 3), March 20, 2000

This review is from: The Broken Country: Book 3 of Gamma Law (Gammalaw,Bk 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
Good action but a bit choppy. Following the progress of four different groups of characters, with each group getting its turn at a chapter, made the flow of the book a bit disjointed. BUT, the action and story was written well enough to keep me guessing as to how things will turn out in Book 4.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good action novel with original story line., November 6, 1998
This review is from: The Broken Country: Book 3 of Gamma Law (Gammalaw,Bk 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
Book 2 of Gammalaw ended with disaster at the meeting of Dextra Haven and Grandee Rhodes. Book Three starts with the main characters going off in a variety of directions. Good action along with some really unique local characters and customs. The plot becomes quite complex and some really unexpected twists and turns develop in the story line. I have yet to figure out how it all is going to come together, which makes it more entertaining. Really looking forward to Book 4, which I understand has been written, but not released.
