Hard to get through....,
By A Customer
This review is from: Broken Date (Fear Street Series #8) (Mass Market Paperback)
I found this book difficult to get through. It was somewhat boring with little suspense and not very scary. The ending was a bit obvious ( you'll see why if you read it) and not much happened. Most of the excitement was at the beginning and then it slowed down to the end. By the end, I had to force myself to read the last few pages.

Jamie's boyfriend Tom stands her up for a date, and she starts getting suspicious and paranoid as to why. Her best friend Ann-Marie tells her that there is probably a logical explanation as to why he stood her up.
Jamie then witnesses a jewelry store robbery, which doesn't help her already paranoid state. At the end of the book, we find out if Tom is good or bad, and if he really had a logical reason or not for standing her up. But until then, Jamie is really "losing it" because of her suspicions. I can't say more, because I do not want to ruin it. One star is missing because I felt the plot of this book was weaker than I liked. I do not compare books to books, because that would be unfair (judging on a sliding scale); I only judge on the one big 1-5 scale. On that scale, I felt this book did not quite rise to the 5-star level. I am an adult, and I do take into consideration that a teen book will be a little less complicated (which is good, because sometimes we adults need simpler, fun books); even with that consideration, I felt 4 stars were fair.

It was the worst R.L.Stine book I have ever read. It could have been better. Hardly any guessing. You know who the killer already is.
