Book Description

18 + CONTAINS ADULT LANGUAGE AND CONTENT
Layton Morris and his brother Mike grew up not knowing what it would be like to live in a normal home. With no running water or electricity in their home, no parents around to protect them, they quickly learned how to survive and depend only on each other.

When a tragic accident takes Mike away from Layton, and the only other person that he ever let into his heart walked away from him, leaving his heart shattered, Layton focuses all of his time and energy into the ranch he and his brother dreamed of. He makes a vow to himself to never let love in again. The last thing Layton needed or wanted was more heartache.

Whitley Reynolds grew up in a privileged home in upstate New York. When she landed the star football player in high school no one was surprised, not even Whitley. She dreamed of a life with Roger living in New York City and happily followed him there.

The first time Roger hit her for arguing with him about a dinner party, she forgave him. The more it happened, the further Whitley withdrew from her friends and family. One fateful day things go to far. Whitley makes a promise to herself and finds the courage to do the one thing she thought she’d never be able to do.

Fleeing with her best friend Courtney, Whitley was determined to put her past behind her and start a new life in the small town of Llano, Texas, where no one would ever find out about her past.

Will they both ever learn to trust and love again, or will their pasts come back to haunt them, keeping them both alone and…

Broken.

2.0 out of 5 stars Just ok... December 12, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book was ok, it honestly felt like they were in high school throughout the whole book even though they are all over the age of 25. The way Whitney an Courtney talked to each other just a little to immature for me. I get that they are friends but their interactions just seemed so fake. And the language in this book ummm wow I'm not a prude or anything I understand cuss words can be effective but when every other word is a cuss word yea it just comes across as trying to hard to be grown up. And I'm sorry but Layton was such a pussy, crying all the time. I know he had a hard life but really man up an grow a pair, seemed like he was crying every chapter.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Little Familiar.... November 21, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Ahhhhhhhh I have to be completely honest with my review!! This is a sweet story of two broken characters who find love and healing in each other. I first have to say that I really loved this story and if you love a corny, insta-love, over the top mushy, slightly unrealistic love story, then this is for you! There is nothing wrong with these stories and I am a personal lover of them, sometimes just needing something light and squishy! Hehe

In saying the above this book stands alone as an awesome read, although when teamed up with Kelly's previous Wanted Series it is just all too familiar!! Layton and Whit are Gunner and Ellie and we get our own Ari and Jeff with Reed and Courtney! They are broken as was Ellie, Jeff and Heather! There were so many similarities in these books as well as just the overall feeling!! So much so that even places like Marble Hills and Fredricksburg were mentioned again! One negative I reviewed on Faithful was in every story each girl after having sex for the first time makes a big to do and says can I be on top, every single one of them! Ellie, Ari, Heather and now Whit! I swear to god if Jessie says it in Cherished I may have to throw my kindle! Hehe At least Whit wasn't a virgin because that would've done it for me, although I find it hard to believe that someone in a relationship for years and being sexually active was so inexperienced in that department, made me want to gag a little!! We even got another two evil women to deal with in Olivia and Anna, i felt that these books were so similar this could've just been another couple added to the Wanted series!

1.0 out of 5 stars too immature and poorly written December 22, 2013
By marymac
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book started strong and could of finished strong but that was not the case.... a quarter thru the book the scenes become stupid and unbelievable and the dialog between all the characters ridiculous. How many times can you repeat the same sex scene and not loose the reader. Save your money ( I wish I had) because there are much better "LOVE" stories in the kindle universe.

1.0 out of 5 stars Really badly Broken..! December 19, 2013
By Adelin
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
When I read some of the negative reviews, I thought it was over critical people BUT NO! They have it right, this is a really badly written book. The characters aren't plausible at all. The author needs to seriously work on this and any decent editor would have got her to change these problems before publishing (if Kelly Elliott even had an editor, which I bet she didn't or didn't listen). Every description is "The bluest eyes or the greenest eyes I've ever seen" "The most beautiful house" - really no beautiful houses anywhere in New York or back home where the author painted Whitley as coming from a well to do wealthy family? Her potty mouth also does suit her character, I could go on but just - Do Not Buy This Book, you will be regretful like me.

1.0 out of 5 stars Didn't get it December 24, 2013

Possibly the dumbest book I ever read. It was like a soap opera. Everyone had perfect bodies, beautiful, handsome and terrific in bed. This is some teenage girl's sexual fantasy .Actually ---- stars

1.0 out of 5 stars Very poorly written! November 26, 2013

Very poorly written. Profanity used so much it was annoying instead of effective. Big gaps and leaps in the storyline. Felt like reading a high schooler's diary.

1.0 out of 5 stars don't know why I kept reading, but glad it's over.... November 26, 2013
By cj
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Poorly written and predictable, I ended up skimming most of the supposedly steamy scenes. It felt like it was written by someone who's never actually had a relationship.
The relationships were immature and undeveloped, and the drama was soap operatic. I think the only reason I kept reading was the lack of typos.

1.0 out of 5 stars Jr. High December 24, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I know people mentioned this book was like being in high school, but I had more intelligent conversations and thoughts when I was in high school than this. This book is so poorly written I think I actually got dumber the further I read. I had to convince myself to keep giving this book another shot but by the beginning of chapter 6, I gave up. The female lead is not likable at all. Apparently she was raised with truckers and sailors because most of her vocabulary consisted of swear words. I get the use of profanity for effect, but there was so much nonsense like, "F No!'" & "S*#t yeah" Really? The characters were so "teen" it was grating on my nerves. I'm completely amazed that this book has a 4 1/2 star rating. I'm actually disappointed that this is the new standard for a good book.
