About the Author

Ms. Carlton currently lives and writes in the greater Chicagoland area. She is currently working on a five part series, the first of which she anticipates will be finished before January of 2009. One third of author proceeds are earmarked for various Children's welfare and wellness organizations quarterly for no less than two years after the initial publication date.

This book is a graphic depiction of the potential results of child abuse. It's well written and gripping - a real page turner. Definitely not for children, but should be read by everyone else. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down. The author has done an excellent job with a sensitive topic.

The author asserts it is an unapologetic look into the life of a serial killer and she delivers! The psychological thriller has one alternatingly gasping in horror and crying with empathy for a man broken from the inside by the one person he should have been able to rely on above all others. The twisted journey leads us through years of abuse masquerading as a mother's love entangled with the broken psyche of the current day killer seeking a forbidden love to heal him and make him whole. The ending culminates in an exciting and gruesome conclusion that leaves one feeling a sense of despair for what 'could have been' had life been different for the Custon brothers. One thing is certain - this book forces you to look at the effects of child abuse and haunts your thoughts for weeks after you've read the final page. An exciting, though-provoking tale.

You know that sometimes there is just a book that call out to you? You see the cover and although it looks harmless to the everyday person it draws you inn and before you know it you got the book inn hand reading the first few pages unable to put it down. That is how this book was for me. I am not a reader... I like to read but I usually find it either to slow or just not my thing. This book though really had me hooked from the get go.

How the writer got behind inside the killers mind scares me cus no one should really be able to create that just from ideas inn their own head. Even though some mental images are strong they make the ending even more perfect! Just wait till you get there you will know, just trust me on that!
