Grand choices: for plot, for script, for background music, for actors and casting. If I knew where to find the 'real' transcript (would that be 'a copy of the teleplay'?) for legitimate sale, I would buy it right now at full price. Fox the TV network really ought to consider publishing it somehow, sooner than later. I doubt I'm the only one who would purchase it. I'm sure that to read some parts of the episode will make me say 'ouch,' some will make me say 'aha,' others will rapidly be memorized without effort, and the list goes on. Mental health lessons are everywhere, with many having been deftly inserted between the lines. As careful as the writers and producers have been all these years with the aspects of the show which need to be factual, I believe this episode does also have useful reality among the fantasy. The story twists qualify for all shades of surprise. I guarantee at least one scene will make you laugh aloud, sufficiently to wake your neighbors. I also guarantee at least one scene will make you hold your breath. Thank you, Fox; and thank you Hugh Laurie.

5.0 out of 5 stars Opening Episode of House Is Best House Yet, September 27, 2009
This review is from: House Season 6 (Amazon Instant Video)
Hugh Laurie really outdoes himself this season. I just finished watching the double opening episode (on tv) and there were none of the other usual characters in it. House is in a psychiatric hospital and for two hours you see him alternate from mood to mood to mood as he tries to come to terms with two things. First, he has to detox from the substance abuse. This is the easier of the two problems and not a great deal of time is spent on it. The much more complex problem is House's submitting himself to another doctor's care, a psychiatrist no less, to get to the root of the problem, not just its manifestation. House, of course, resists and in so doing tries to subvert the entire mental ward, provoking them to rebellion. Hugh Laurie does the acting job of his life this time and you won't be disappointed!
