As not a huge fan of the Diplomats ( I can't stand Cam'ron, Juelz Santana & Jim Jones are average) I decided o give a chance to some of the lesser known members albums (JR Writer's I'd say were average, Hell Rell's were very impressive) and now I checked out one of 40 Cal.'s albums and was highly impressed with it, and will grab a few more of his works after hearing this one. Unlike Cam, and even to a lesser extent Juelz, Jim, and JR, 40 Cal. Doesn't have the elementary school type rhyming scheme that they have on some of there songs, and keeps it more street. With 16 songs, you get 1 classic, 1 almost classic, 2 ok songs, the other 12 ar good, most being real good songs. Guests are not too heavy, on 7 songs, rapping on 4 and doing hooks on the other 3. Production is very nice as well. Doe Boy does 9 songs; The Bangaz do 3, Shatek, Tai Jason and big tyme all do 1 song. This is a nice album to check out.#1 - 8 #2 - 9 (f/ Juelz Santana -- nice beat) #3 - 9 (nice beat) #4 - 10 (CLASSIC -- f/ Hell Rell -- great beat) #5 - 7 (f/ Jha Jha, who has an annoying hook) #6 - 9 (nice beat) #7 - 9 (f/ Rell -- good beat) #8 - 9 (nice beat) #9 - 8 (deeper song) #11 - 8 #12 - 9 (another deeper song) #13 - 8 (f/ JR Writer & Cam'ron) #14 - 8 #15 - 8.5 (f/ A-Mafia & Ru Spits) #16 - 9.5 (tight beat) #17 - 7.5 (f/ Sudaboss) Calvin Byrd --- Harlem, NY Check all my reviews

This ain't a bad album from dipset. I was reluctant when I first bought this, but it was well worth the used price I paid for. The beats are nice and the lyrics are aight. It's nothing ground-breaking, just a good listen.

OMG. Forget "Curtis", its all about this album and "Graduation", but in 2 different categories. Graduation is that laid back music i play when i'm ridin wit ma girl. This CD is that smoke to, chill to music. 40, you preceded my expectations with this one. the best song on here, of course, is Dip Dip. After that its the track "Big Boys" with the raw Jha Jha. This gets 5 stars from me.
