ya 40 did his thing on the album... but really no energy was given off. (if you watch his Fight Klub battles you know what i'm talkin about) I was a little disappointed in the cd, there were a couple of songs that have a replay value. But i must recommend TRIGGER HAPPY and 40 TO LIFE mixtapes for any 40cal fans. Also i think this might have been a push back release. If you look in the booklet, you will see wrong release dates for hell rell and j.r. writer.

40 can rap...,

Bottom line, this album is nice. If you didn't know, 40 Cal has some of the best lyrics in the game. The only reason why this album didn't get 5 stars is a couple of the beats are lame, and there's no guest appearence from Cam'ron. Overall this album is hot, so buy it and bump it.

40 Cal is nice with the punchlines. The cd has good beats, nice feature artist, and good hooks. I think the best song on the cd is Click Clack feature A-Mafia. Top 5 songs Go Get Your Guns, Click Clack, Quiet Sound, Broken Safety, and Pyrexx Vision (Angel Dust).

When the Diplomates first came out I wasn't much of a fan (Cam'ron was and still is horrible, and Jim Jones & Juelz were/are both hit or miss), but then they added Hell Rell (who is impressive), JR Writer (who has his good and bad moments), and 40 Cal. (who I'm also very impressed with). This is the 2nd album/mixtape of his I have (with "Broken Safety 2" - 4.5 stars) and I will continue to check out some of his past and any new albums he puts out. This one has 21 songs, 2 are near classics, 3 are ok, the other 16 are good, and alot are real good songs. Guests are not too heavy either, on 8 of the 21, rapping on 5 and doing the hook on 3 others. Production is real nice as well. Rek Beats does the majority, 12 of the 21, Charlamain does 2, Doe Boy, Raw Beats, Heatmakerz, K-1 Mil, Dame Grease, Adam,a nd Straight Bangaz all do 1. A nice album for fans of his or people new to him to check out.
#1 - 9 (nice beat) #2 - 8 (f/ Sudaboss) #3 - 8.5 (f/ Chubby) #3 (2nd song) - 8.5 (good beat) #4 - 7.5 (annoying hook) #5 - 8 (f/ JR Writer) #6 - 7 #7 - 8 (f/ Akon) #8 - 8 #9 - 8 #10 - 9.5 (f/ Rod Man -- tight beat) #11 - 9.5 (tight beat) #12 - 9 (f/ Bezel -- tight beat) #13 - 9 (nice beat) #14 - 9 (f/ A-Mafia -- nice beat) #15 - 8.5 #16 - 9 (nice beat) #17 - 9 (nice relaxing beat) #18 - 9 (nice beat) #19 - 8 #20 - 7 (f/ Young Ace) Calvin Byrd -- Harlem, NY Check all my reviews

Tight Album,

Broken Safety is the first official release from 40 Cal., and I must say I've been a big fan since this album. A lot of the tracks have very good production for an "underground" album, and most of his lyrics & flow are definitely on point including some very nice punchlines.

I would just like to say that I was extremely let down...especially because until I heard this album I liked 40 cal the most out of the entire camp. This Lp has recycled lines from freestyles & battles. (all of which are terrible in comparison to its original context) If you're a 40 cal or dipset fan just stick to the mixtapes 40 to life & trigger happy. Oh yeah, that was a wack diss track. Sam Scarfo killed him in the battles. What happened 40?

The saftey wasn't always broken, but it is now!,
This review is from: Broken Safety (Audio CD)
Don't know what the guy above me is talking about this album deserves alot more than 1 star. I'll admit it isn't a classic to end all but it is a pretty good first effort for 40. Most of the songs are very good, and the songs have the same good storytelling and punch-lines as we would expect from 40. A few of the songs on the album have apeared on dipset mixtapes in the past few month's, but thats how dipset does it, the give you a preview of the album through there mixtapes. Bottom line, if you are a fan of dipset and 40 cal then pic this up.
