This review is from: Broken Utterances: A Selected Anthology of 19th Century Black Women's Social Thought (Paperback)
While the book contains vital information on women we may be familiar with such as Harriet Tubman or Sojourner Truth, Broken Utterances also uncovers the stories of so many other important foremothers we should all know about. The book is very accessable to the casual non-historian as well as relevant for the hard-core academic. A great addition to Paula Giddings, Dorothy Sterling and Darline Clark Hine. I highly recommend!
