This book focuses on the disappointments of the 1992 Philadelphia Eagles, and the splintering of a Super Bowl-caliber team that never lived up to its potential. It does so through a wide selection of publicly-available quotes from players and coaches, and rundowns of each of the regular season and playoff games that year. Anyone who followed the team during that season, and the few years previous, may appreciate the thoughts and attitudes expressed in all the quotes printed here. However, it begins to get a little repetitive when the same quote appears for the third time.

It's also clear that this book probes no deeper than the surface, lacking details or exploration of the team's collective failures. There were several undercurrents running throughout this team - the sudden departure of Buddy Ryan and the unpopular elevation of Richie Kotite; the death of Jerome Brown; the free-agent departure of Keith Jackson; the fractured relationship between Reggie White and team owner Norman Braman. All these and more are ripe areas for exploration, to gain a deeper understanding of the Eagles' failure to deliver on the promise of 1992, and they're all missing from this book. It's simply a nice refresher on what should have been a breakout year for Philadelphia sports, and nothing more. For a detailed look at the same subject, try Mark Bowden's excellent book 'Bringing the Heat.'

It seems Anastasia has almost thrown a bunch of articles together and called it a book. He is constantly restating stories that he told in earlier chapters. The book does not flow at all. It was almost like he needed to fill a certain amount of pages. The chapters are fun to read standing alone, but sit down and read this book and you will be bored. If you are an Eagles fan, buy it because the game by game descriptions are excellent. If you're not an Eagles fan, forget it.
