This feeder is a must for those with healthy populations of finches /and/ squirrels. The feeder itself is very well made of quality materials, from the calibrated moving metal squirrel baffle to the thick, UV-resistant tube and coated metal lid and perches. I also bought the larger "Squirrel Buster Plus" regular feeder through Amazon made by Brome and found it to be equally, if not even more, well made. Both are extremely effective: my neighborhood is older and ringed by dozens of mature Pin Oaks teeming with squirrels. They've had free run of my yard for years (the last owners were definitely not gardeners), pulling open suet cages, burying seeds and acorns everywhere, chattering madly at the dog... and then came the Brome feeders. Both are in easy reach of the ground, and the squirrels can climb the pole, but to no use: the baffles slide down every time and they get squat (instead of fat) from my feeders. Huzzah! I would use these feeders even if I didn't have squirrels, I like the dark green metal finish and slim construction, and I really like not needing extra feeder pole baffles, plastic cones, etc. to keep out the squirrels, who are back to their regular job of eating the seed that falls to the ground. :)

NOTE about shipping: this feeder was shipped "as is" in its original box, a shortcut that I did not appreciate. These feeders are pricey, as other reviewers have noted, and worth it, but they DO contain calibrated springs and moving parts, the product needs to be shipped inside a shipping box. The first Brome feeder I ordered was shipped properly, no idea why this one was not. Luckily it suffered no damage and is an outstanding product in action.

It's the best bird feeder I've ever had. My very voracious squirrels don't even bother with it; they are very smart and realized instantly that they couldn't feed from it or destroy it as they have everything else I ever put out for the birds.

Squirrels are absolutely baffled by this feeder! They scavenge under the feeder, but cannot get food FROM the feeder. I highly recommend this product.

This an excellent feeder, it frustrates the hell out of the squirrels. I will never buy another brand !!

Seems to work great for me, I have a den tree loaded with squirrels and none have nosed around it as of one month of having the feeder. Is very easy to clean and fill. with this feeder, there is no need to completely tear apart to clean it. With other ones that I have owned, to clean them, it had to be torn completely apart to clean risking breaking a part and leaking when it rained. This Feeder is very simple to clean and fill. Top of line feeder, worth the price paid and looks 100 percent cooler then my old ones.

I only use the Brome bird feeder products! I've tried many, many others and the Brome is by far the best. It's made so well and, most important to me, is that it really keeps the squirrels out.

I received this bird feeder in the original box, with a shipping label stuck to it. I have always had my amazon.com shipments sent in a well padded cardboard box. I understand that the merchant sends these out, but amazon needs to know that this is really unacceptable. Take a little care in shipping. This birdfeeder was not cheap!!!!!!!AT this time of year also, presents are being bought....Guess who got the package....The recepiant
The product (thankfully) looks like it survived UPS and the handling in a unprotected box.
I inspected the bird feeder and it looks like good quality. It's the shipping I have a problem with...very cheasy

I will think a little bit more when using amazon.

It's great, this thing really does what it advertises... I think the squirrels are bummed!

I bought 2 Brome squirrel buster bird feeders and after useing for a couple days I decided I wanted one for the finch and other little birds, so I bought the Brome squirrel buster finch feeder. They all work fantastically. Even the pigeons love them as they wait on the ground below them and get what the other birds spill. We also feed the sqirrels and have about 20 of them at any given time and they quit trying to get at the feeders as they quickly found out it was impossible for the to do so.
Got all three of them through Amazon and as usual their price was the cheapest and delivery time was as promised. Do not hesitate to purchase these feeders as not only will you be happy with them but also will the Birds. I had to put up a take your number machine as there were so many birds at times. Fun to watch them as when they are done eating they take a bath in our water fountain.

I love this feeder. I have been using feeder from Wild Bird Center, which i have always liked, but i like this feeder even better. It is definitely squirrel proof and the birds seem to use it more than my other feeders.
