Equipped with patented Squirrel Buster technology, this Brome 1024 Squirrel Buster Plus bird feeder offers an innovative design that attracts birds while keeping squirrels at bay. The bird feeder holds 3 quarts of bird seed, whether it's Black Oil sunflower seed (a good all-round birdseed) or other seed blends specific to your area.
A welcome choice for bird lovers, the squirrel-proof bird feeder attracts a wide variety of clinging and perching birds including American Gold Finches, Chickadees, Cardinals, Downy Woodpeckers, Indigo Buntings, Rose-Breasted Grosbeaks, Evening Grosbeaks, and Purple Finches. A Cardinal Ring comes included, providing a comfortable perch for Cardinals.
Openings in the bottom section of the feeder (shroud) align with seed ports, providing birds access to the seed. When a squirrel climbs onto the feeder, its weight automatically forces the shroud down, closing the seed ports. Squirrels and large birds are blocked from accessing the seed, but are not harmed in any way.
Start by using the feeder with the factory setting before making any adjustments. A small red squirrel (4 ounces) will trigger the closing mechanism at this setting. To increase the setting, rotate the transparent cartridge clockwise. The red line will move down from the previous setting. This increases the weight required to close access to the seed. To decrease the setting, turn the cartridge counter clockwise. The red line will move up from the previous setting. This decreases the weight required to close access to the seed. The adjustable weight settings make it easy to control unwanted squirrels and larger-size birds.
Position your feeder just about anywhere and be squirrel-free. Hang the Squirrel Buster Plus over a window, in a tree, on a deck or fence, in your garden, on the side of your house, from a rain gutter, or over sliding doors to get great close-up views of your favorite birds. The bird feeder hangs easily with the use of a wall bracket, extension hook, or tree hook (sold separately).
The Squirrel Buster Plus dismantles for convenient filling, and it's top-rack dishwasher-safe for easy cleaning as needed.

Best bird feeder out there. You feed birds, not squirrels. Mine has stood up to outdoor use during two terrible winters in the northeast. Great productPublished 3 hours ago by Heather Gregory
