5.0 out of 5 stars good soap, creepy label
a great soap but I'm a bit confused by all of the cluttered, crazy religious mumbo-jumbo on the label, not sure why soap needs to advertise the 'moral ABC that unites all mankind' and the 'second coming of gods law'.. but that aside - a WONDERFUL soap, very gentle, leaves a fresh scent, isn't tested on animals and is concentrated so you get a lot out of the small bottle...

2.0 out of 5 stars Okay for hands and that is it
This is fine for hand soap but don't believe the people who say it works as a shampoo. Maybe if you don't care at all what your hair looks like it's okay. For the rest of us who want to avoid hair that feels like straw and smells disgusting, avoid at all costs!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for use in cloth wipe solution!, December 22, 2010

Our family uses cloth diapers and wipes exclusively, and I make my own cloth wipe solution. Dr. Bronner's is an excellent soap to use for cloth wipes. It is mild and does not irritate my little one's sensitive bum. Just mix a TB of apricot oil, a cup of water, and a TB of Dr. Bronner's in a spray bottle, and you're good to go!

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this stuff!, January 8, 2011

Well, its winter and my skin dries up so much I'm pretty sure you could start a fire if you tried hard enough. I've heard many good things about Dr. Bronner, so I thought I'd give it a try.

Wow, I am impressed, to say the least. I now only have to moisturize my skin a few times a week as opposed to a few times a day.

You now have a loyal customer, Dr. Bronner.

This soap is great! Cuts though dirt like no other. I like the unscented baby soap to mix with water and a few drops of baby oil to make home made cloth wipe solution for babies. All it takes is a few drops!

5.0 out of 5 stars The best "just plain soap" ever, July 4, 2011
This review is from: Dr Bronners Magic Pure-Castile Soap Organic Baby Mild 8 oz (Health and Beauty)
Sometimes I think I've used half the soaps on Earth. I've tried a bunch of different bar soaps and "body washes," and they do their job, but they all got old and their fancy fake color and gelatinous texture got on my nerves, and bar soaps would diminish into difficult-to-use nothingness.

Imagine my surprise, then, to find Dr. Bronner's unscented soap. It is exactly what I want: just some plain soap. It's a liquid soap, so none of the problems you'd find with the gradual diminution of the soap bar, leaves no residue, doesn't seem to dry out my skin, and leaves me feeling way cleaner than those body washes ever did. There is no way to beat that scrubbed-clean feeling. It has not been scented, though Dr. Bronner's makes other products that are and, as one reviewer said, you can add scent yourself if you really need it, but honestly, you should appreciate the fresh, mild "soap" smell that will stay for the whole day without ever attracting notice like perfumed soaps do. A little goes a long way, so this 8 oz bottle will last a good while, but I fully intend to get a 1 gallon jug when this runs out to refill as needed. I may have preferred a pump dispenser bottle to the basic snap cap, but this bottle is in keeping with the product's modest ambitions, so I'm perfectly happy just to pour it into the dispenser of my choosing.

The only thing that marred my otherwise unequivocal joy with this product is the writing on the bottle. I'm the type who reads all the information on the bottle while I'm rinsing my hair out, so I read all that tiny writing all over the bottle. It's a rather incoherent religious message that propagates the "All-One-God-Faith" and the "Moral ABC," whatever that is, from the Judeo-Christian-based religion that he seems to have invented. Cecil Adams explained the background in a Straight Dope article, but it makes me a little uncomfortable using soap with a religous message. I know that cleanliness is next to whatever, but that stuff is just not something I want on a hygiene product. It's not enough to turn me off, but it comes pretty close, and may be enough to dissuade some.

Religious ravings aside, my favorite products are always the ones that do something simple very, very well, and Dr. Bronner's soap is the perfect example. If you're sick of soaps that claim to do twenty different things when you just want one--to get clean!--this is for you. It is the soap of soaps.

5.0 out of 5 stars This Soap Gets You Clean!!!, February 23, 2011
This review is from: Dr Bronners Magic Pure-Castile Soap Organic Baby Mild 8 oz (Health and Beauty)
I cannot sing this soap's praises enough. I use it on my skin and as a shampoo. It REALLY cleans! It REALLY does! It does not leave soap film on your skin at all. My skin and hair are always soft after I use it.

We've tried various Dr. Bronner products. We like this unscented one the best. Then you can add your own essential oils if you want.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really Cleans, September 21, 2007
This review is from: Dr Bronners Magic Pure-Castile Soap Organic Baby Mild 8 oz (Health and Beauty)
I recently used this product to get sap off my car with no chemical residue left to remove. This product dissolves dirt. I put the product directly onto the sap and let it sit for about 20 minutes. Then I lightly sprayed the areas with water. I let it sit for about another 15 minutes or so. I used a terry cloth to rub off the sap. There were a couple of times where my fingernail came in handy, but if I had let it sit a little longer, I think it would have come off with less elbow grease. There was no telltale sign of any sap or the product left on my car. Just a nice clean car with the paint still intact. Great PRODUCT!!
