Closest you'll get to knowing anything about the man..., December 10, 2006
If you're a fan of the great Charles Bronson, you probably already know that there is little spoken and even less written about the life and times of this International Superstar.
Said to have disliked both Hollywood and it's stars(outside of good friend James Coburn), Bronson was quoted as saying that "People who have not experienced hard times are not real" and "I don't need friends. My family is my friends."
Born and raised in an Ehrenfeld, PA coal mining town, Charles Buchinsky rose from the crud and coal dust to being the highest paid actor in the world. This is his story.
The book is well written and includes historical details from his childhood, interviews, quotes, and 16 pages of rare pictures provided by Bronson himself as well as many who have known him over the years.
If you're a big Bronson fan and you're looking for any comprehensive details or background on this iconic cult figure, for now this is the best you will do. The real value of this book comes from the compilation of years of interviews and scattered comments made by Bronson and those close to him.
