One of the best soundtrack compilations ever,
This review is from: A Bronx Tale: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
This music made a good movie great! It is a prime example of how previously recorded music can do so much to set the tone, and capture to spirit of the times of a film.A great collection of songs, which (like the movie) spans a couple of generations and styles. It goes so much farther that to doo-wop roots, with "The Ten Commandments of Love", "For Your Precious Love". The tracks cover Jimi Hendrix's "All Along the Watchtower", James Brown's "Man's Man's Man's World" the Four Tops, and a host of others, from Wilson Pickett to the Moody Blues. The title song, "On the Streets of the Bronx" is a wonderful touching homage to a great era of music, that "good old harmony" of streetcorner doo-wop. Where I wanna be, indeed!

It's not easy to find a soundtrack with one good song after another. This one is defintely worth owning. Done in true DeNiro style...award winning! A super great 'make-out' 'remember-when' soundtrack that does not disappoint.Cuddle up with your baby, and enjoy!

A blast from the past.,

I can't get enough of this CD. The songs are from an era when dirty words and lude comments were not the norm. The sentamentalities expressed in every record are so inviting. It is truly a pleasure to have a CD that my children can listen to and enjoy. My four year old knows the words to Dean Martin singing Ain't That a Kick in the Head. Now, that's a kick in the head. This CD was the best birthday present I've received in a long time. It truly is the gift that keeps giving.

A fantastic cornucopia of musical genres! Motown, Doo Wop and a few standards! When this music was originally released, I wasn't born or was very young..so I thank the movie for this soundtrack for introducing me to some great music! I can listen to "I Only Have Eyes For You" a zillion times and never tire of it..and if that wasn't enough, this soundtracks also contains great songs by the likes of: Jerry Butler, The Moody Blues, Jimi Hendrix, James Brown, The Impressions, Donald Byrd and even Dean Martin! It's a great mix of genres..and I simply love it. Had I not loved the movie so much and felt all the music was fitting, I would never have discovered this great music! You won't be disappointed...absolutely wonderful!

One of the greatest soundtracks ever. The mixture of music on this one works so well together from such great artists as Dean Martin, Della Reese to James Brown and The Jimi Hendrix Experience to name a few. You can play this CD anywhere at anytime and never get tired of hearing such old classics that are timeless and put together in an order that play with your emotions from beginning to end.One question though, How many soundtracks does "Nights In White Satin" appear in, anyway????!!!!

The song played during the street fight scene is by the Moody Blues "Nights in White Satin". I have always thought that was a great song but I when I heard it during that scene I was completely blown away. I love it when filmmakers use an unconventional song for a scene.Great songs. Great film. I love it.

The Best Soundtrack,
By A Customer
This review is from: A Bronx Tale: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
This album is the best soundtrack I have ever listened to. There are so many different songs for different tastes. From J. Hendrix to Dean Martin to Bobby Watson to the Flamingos to the Four Tops to Wilson Pickett. My favorite is Bustalk and I Only Have Eyes For You, both hard to find classics. If you appreciate good music, you will definitely play this album over and over again.

Beautiful Sounds of the Era,
By
This review is from: A Bronx Tale: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
This CD is a fantastic sample of the "Do-Op" era. Cool Change's opening song, "Streets of the Bronx" set the tone for the movie. Some wonderful groups started "on the streets of the Bronx". "Dion and the Belmonts". (Belmont Avenue), the "Demensions", (not on this CD), and others. The Flamingos, "I only have eyes for you" bring back a flood of memories of the "make-out" days gone by...
