I've been looking at the Kork-ease platforms for awhile but did'nt want to pay the price. Plus I thought they were just "o.k." to look at. These are pretty much the same design, but with an extra strap down the front of the shoe. I think it gives them a bit of a gladiator or perhaps even bohemian hippie look. I wore them out of the box and they were tight across the toe area. It hurt, but the leather is sooo soft that after a few days of wearing them in a couple hrs. @ a time, they are now puuurrfect! They are really well made. The heel strap is even a double layer of leather so that it is'nt abbrasive on your heel. The rest is very soft and supple. This just feels like a substantial shoe. Not too heavy. Not as light as a cork shoe, but it feels sturdy. Only thing I had a problem with is that I sometimes would "tip" over the shoes which could be very dangerous. The leather stretched and my foot wriggles around a bit. I think this would have been remedied if they had made a buckle on the heel strap as well. Tightening the other buckle did help some. I highly reccomend this shoe.
