These boots are perfect for big calves. and really really cute. I got the gray and loveeee them. I have larger calves so i can wear them up or slouched and love them. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars is they are ridiculously hard for me to get on. I have yet to perfect the technique. but after they are on they are really comfy i wore them for the first night to a party for 6+ hours dancing and standing the whole time with no issues. order a size bigger.

First of all, gorgeous construction and quality materials. I love the fact that the shaft of the boot comes up close to my knee (I'm 5'8 with long legs). But this shoe is not for an average size foot or calf. Even after tucking my jeans into the shaft, this boot buckled like a soggy cookie. I could gather fabric in my hand and fold it over - that's how big they fit in the calf. My guy friend even said to me, "Whose boots are you wearing? They don't fit." I really wanted to make them work but I had to return them. Also, order your normal size because they run true to size and a bit wide.

thanks to a review i had read, i purchased the size 8. normally in a boot i take an 8.5, but these do not come in half sizes and do run just a bit large so i recommend getting a size down. the color is darker than in the picture (more biege than off white), but they fit like a glove and look beautiful. the boots arrived quite soon after ordering even though i only chose normal shipping. i am satisfied and would order again in the future.

I have the Bronx Linus Tall Boot in Cognac. The colour is gorgeous, very rich and true to its namesake. I have a very regular and average size 9 foot, I also have the misfortune of having developed 16 1/2" calves through sports, slightly larger than the 16" shaft of the boot. I bought the boot with some trepidation. The sizing is a bit confusing. There doesn't seem to be a consistent standard for sizing between shoe manufacturers. My Sketchers Bikers size 9 is a size 39 Euro, in my New Balance runner and hikers a size 9 is a 40.5 Euro. I've ordered shoes directly from Europe and always took a size 40, so I ordered the size 10, which lists as a 40 European. I'm glad I did because if I had bought the size 9 (39 Euro), I'm positive that I wouldn't have gotten my foot in there and even if I had, it wouldn't have been comfortable. I also measured the length and width of the boot to a size 7 men's Boulet boot and the length and width are similar, the size 7 men's fitting slightly smaller than a size 9 ladies boot. The boot was initially a challenge to get in to and I was disappointed that I would have to send them back and doubtful that I would even be able to get into a size 11 (41 Euro), the pinch point being the instep to heel. I ended up using a long handled shoe horn and after a 10 minute struggle, got my feet in to the boots. Be patient if you have larger calves and pull the boot on by pulling up from near the bottom of the shaft not at the top of the shaft and then pull it up over your calves once your foot is in. Once on, the boot is extremely comfortable and with wearing, stretches out and molds to your foot, instep and calf making it easier to put on after you've worn it a few times. There'll be about an inch of space at the very tip, but that's how a western boot should fit, you don't want your toes jammed into the pointy end. The boot is very well made, stylish, looks marvelous with boot cut jeans or skinny jeans, tights and skirts. Also, if you have larger calves, you can wear it all the way up (and it'll stay there), or scrunch it down. Lucky for us! Finally a boot made for us, thank you Bronx!

I ordered this boot in both the camel and the brown suede. Like the other reviews, this boot is perfect for a wider calf. My only problem is that it does not come in half sizes. I wear between an 8 and an 8.5, and for Cleveland, Ohio winters, warm socks are a must, so I would have purchased my boots in an 8.5 if that was an option. Overall, this is a beautiful, well-fitting boot. My husband even "suggested" that I keep both pairs since I couldn't decide which color to send back ;)

Love the boots! Got them in brown and they really go well with my casual style. The distress in color and detail have them definately looking like a high end boot. I have a higher arch and they are snug to get on but then they feel so comfortable I never care to take them off. I feel they fit very true to size.

I gave these 4 stars in April 2009 when I first got them, but they have held up so well and been so comfortable that I have to make an update now (in Feb 2011) to give them 5 stars!

I found them to run slightly small, unless your foot is very narrow. I almost always wear 9.5 in US shoes; the size 39 in this shoe was too tight through the arch and heel. The 40 felt slightly longer than ideal, but fit in width. They have broken in really nicely and are comfortable even for long walks.

I was concerned that they would start losing their shape and slipping down as I wore them, but this didn't happen. As others have said, they have wide calves which are great if you need them. Also a heads up, these boot are pretty tall-- I am 5'9'' and they come up to my knee.

These boots are great! I ordered the cognac color and it's a great reddish brown. I wore them wandering all over New Orleans and no blisters or tired feet. They were super comfortable straight out of the box. They fit over my slightly larger calves, although not enough room to go over jeans yet. They do slouch a bit as you wear them, but I liked the look and got several compliments on them. I even wore them to the airport and they were easy on and off for security. I'd love another pair in a different color.

I wish I would have listened to the other reviews that said this boot is made for a wide calf. It's very true. The boots look ridiculous on me, and now I have to send then back. Bummer!

I have been looking at boots for a couple of years trying to find the "right" one. I wanted a boot that I could wear with jeans, with knee socks and a skirt or with leggings. I wanted a boot with a little bit of a heel, that could be dressed up or down. When I saw this boot, I thought I had found a winner. The package just arrived from Amazon and I opened it immediately and tried them on in my kitchen. Although the color is darker than the image on my computer (I ordered them in camel...), they are EXACTLY the boots that I've been looking for! The fit is great, the suede is soft but stiff enough to stand up around my calf - they fit me like a glove. I am already contemplating ordering them in another color!
