I have purchased three of these pendants. The first two for my daughters when they left home to be on their own. I wanted them to remember the importance of family and home and to protect them in their own homes. The third one, referred to in this review, I purchased just recently to remind those who see me wearing it that it is not a racist symbol as one Social Media site would have us believe and for the same reasons that I gifted it to my daughters. .

The design itself is a contemporary old Norse styling of Othala. I particularly like the nod to Odin by incorporating his wolves into the design. The old Norse myths tell us that Odin gifted us the runes in the first place by hanging on the world tree for nine days and nights and then taking up the runes and sharing them. Othala is the last rune in the Elder Futhark and completes it.

This piece is bronze but it appears very golden. It is a beautiful piece and I get many comments on it. Wear it for it's beauty alone or to save Othala.
