BEWARE! Counterfeit British Garden Tool,
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Brook & Hunter 11020DY Premium Digging Fork with a Handcrafted Red Oak Handle and a Stainless Steel Alloy Polished Blade, 43-Inch long (Lawn & Patio)
Warning!
Seems a simple choice: Read reviews of garden tools elsewhere online; Come to Amazon to buy; See top quality British garden tools. Then see Brook & Hunter alternative suggested in the sidebar. Hmmm, looks like the more expensive British tool at a lower price. Name could be American...let's buy that, save $30 and perhaps keep some jobs at home. When the tool arrived, its crooked tines were a surprise. I examined closely. Uh oh! No country of origin stamped anywhere--and that usually means you know who: the toy and puppy poisoners of PRC. Read the "life guarantee" : badly fractured English. The factory in Guangdong printed "delicate" when copying "dedicated" from the label on a British tool they copied. I looked at the tines again: more than crooked, each one a different shape--a very shoddy copy of tools sold at better garden shops. Think you are getting the equivalent of an $89 British tool for $59? Think again. You are getting ripped off. You can buy Chinese tools at Ace hardware for half the price. This is a $15 cheapy with a shiny finish. Try collecting on the "guarantee" in a couple years when the distributor and factory have moved on to operate under a different name. Beware. Don't waste your money.

Shame on you, Amazon.,

OK, the digging fork (and shovel, read my review on that) work well, are made as advertised, BUT they are NOT genuine Brook and Hunter products. How can you tell? If you read the 'guarantee' which comes with it, you will, if you speak English as a native speaker, see that it is full of spelling and grammatical errors. Obviously a poor translation from English, to say, maybe Chinese, then back again into English? But the shovel and fork are working well for over a year, so I cannot complain about that. But I don't like being hoodwinked into thinking it's the real article! Be forewarned, customers.

Broke easily,
This review is from: Brook & Hunter 11020DY Premium Digging Fork with a Handcrafted Red Oak Handle and a Stainless Steel Alloy Polished Blade, 43-Inch long (Lawn & Patio)
I used this fork 4 times and it broke easily. I was digging Aralia nudacalis roots in gravel and the handle snapped. I was hoping it would be stronger, but it is pretty.
