5.0 out of 5 stars *All You Need To Know About Brooke's Debut*
It is wonderfully refreshing to have a pop star come out with a truly enjoyable album since Britney's "Oops!...I Did It Again" last May. Brooke Allison is 14 years old with a voice that will take her years to grow in to. Her songs are feel-good, catchy, all-around great, and listenable songs (for the pop-music fan, that is).

I remember being a little 13 year old worshipping TRL (see my other reviews...you can see where my heart lies) and thinking 'The Kiss off (goodbye)' was da bomb. Then...apparently until last week I forgot it existed at all. I found Brooke's CD in a Used Bin and was like 'Oooo' so I had to buy it.

1. The Kiss-Off (Goodbye) - Brooke's first release from this album. The defining track for the rest of the CD! Very edgy and futuristic! 9.5/10

2. Oh No - One of three cute little interludes.

3. Toodle-Oo - Good pop, with a light touch of R&B. A girl power song. Very listenable, but not the best on the album. 8/10

4. I Miss You - One of four ballads to truly show off Brooke's powerful range and vocals. Very sweet, and sad. 9/10

5. Seth - The second of the interludes! :)

6. Rollercoaster - A very fun song! Great Pop!! Brooke shows off good vocals! 8.5/10

7. Thought You Might Wanna Know - The best uptempo song on the album! A little mature, but just an all around wonderful song!! 10/10

8. If I Were You - Another ballad (probably the only ballad that gets on the verge of being boring, but it never get's boring.) Good vocals, and pretty. 8/10

9. Perfect Chemistry - Co-written by Mya. This song is very, very catchy and will get stuck in your head. Very danceable! FUN! 9/10

10. Without You - The worst song on the album, but it's not that bad! Uptempo, but kinda boring. 7/10

11. Maybe Tonight - GREAT BALLAD!! Brooke's vocals are great!! 9.5/10

12. Dating - Last of the interludes! :P

13. My Heart Goes Boom - Right up there with #7! A great poppy, upbeat song!! 9.5/10

14. Say Goodbye - Possibly the best song on the album. It is a ballad and Brooke will astound you with her voice on this one!! 10/10

Being a pop music fan, I give this CD an overall rating of a 95/100!

5.0 out of 5 stars not bad at all..., October 18, 2004
This review is from: Brooke Allison (Audio CD)
this album is actually pretty good from a musical standpoint. although the material is a bit weak -- its a little ridiculous hearing a 13 year-old singing about seeing her man with another girl "by the club door"... what club is she at, Chucky Cheese?? Other than the weak lyrics, the singing is top-notch, espeically for a young'n like her.

5.0 out of 5 stars Female Singer of the Summer, July 13, 2001
This review is from: Brooke Allison (Audio CD)
The magnificent effectivness this brings on me is overwhelming! Brooke brought a wonderful single CD, which I say is the single of the year (so far) with Eurodance, Urban, and Club Mixes, but now there's her too-great debut CD.

The melody and catchy rhymes of "Without You" are only matched by "Rollercoaster"'s quick tune and deep lyrics. And of course, her smash single, "The Kiss-Off, Goodbye" Tells of a girl and a boy with an internet relationship until the guy makes a wrong move and everything's over!

The ballads, which I usually skip, have a better feel to them, especially "Say Goodbye" I hate most ballads, I've only ever liked Britney's, but Brooke brings something different, more......splendid...

Lyrics include: "Without You-There is no sun, there's no stars to shine, without you...there is no day no night no moon no light no world without you." Mysterious Melody...deep melody. Or "Rollercoaster-I'm a rollercoaster rollin' out of control. If I take your heart that's just the way that it goes. If you wanna get on, hold on tight. I'm a rollercoaster....Wanna Go For A Ride?" Another Mysterious melody...If you aren't convinced this is THE female singer, give it a listen. Listen close...she sounds like Britney, huh? WRONG! Listen CLOSELY! Yeah, that's right. Now buy it, because it IS the album of the summer, and everyone who says Brooke is too young has no brains in their head. She's got talent and a beautiful voice. PERIOD...

~Thank You!

~Brooke's BIGGEST fan!

3.0 out of 5 stars Well...I'll be danged., May 22, 2006
This review is from: Brooke Allison (Audio CD)
I remember being a little 13 year old worshipping TRL (see my other reviews...you can see where my heart lies) and thinking 'The Kiss off (goodbye)' was da bomb. Then...apparently until last week I forgot it existed at all. I found Brooke's CD in a Used Bin and was like 'Oooo' so I had to buy it.

Imagine the ego deflation I had when I learned this girl was my age when she had her fame. Not fair.

Anyways on to the CD. Most importantly I forgot how well this girl could sing. She had a voice...cant deny that. Most of her songs are the typical 00 catchy pop and really there's little stopping them from being hits...except the trouble with the lyrics.

For one a lot of them just come off as stupid (Rollercoaster is one shining example but not the only one) or just plain odd (Thought you might wanna know). If she co wrote them it shows: they sound like a 14 year old with little writing expierence tried to write them. Although...she gets points for usuing the word 'giggilo' in a chorus (guess which song!) Never heard that before...

When the lyrics arent coming off as lamer then lame they sound completly unbelievable for a 14 year old to be singing (such as 'bein in the club'...etc.) Before I knew her age I thought something was wrong with how these lyrics were sung...her inexpierence definitly shows.

The best songs are by far 'The Kiss off' (of course), 'The one that got away', 'I miss you' (for her voice), and 'Say Goodbye' (for her voice). If only the lyrics had changed she could have had a few more hits.

Overall not a bad CD. Its not the best 00 pop...but it isnt even close to the worst (have you people ever heard of a band called Innoscense?)

5.0 out of 5 stars She's really not that bad, October 4, 2004

Yeah, the production and material absolutely sucks... but this was released what, 4 years ago? This is what was getting played on radio then. This girl has legitimately good voice (listen to the clip of the last track). She's just as good vocally as the Jessica Simpsons and Christina Aguileras of the music industry. Unfortunatley, I guess she never really took off though. But yeah, I bet now thats shes alot older her voice is even better and if she had decent material she'd be really good.

4.0 out of 5 stars If you like "So Real"..., October 25, 2003
This review is from: Brooke Allison (Audio CD)
If this CD had come out just a little earlier than it did... All the songs are great and well-sung, with only one problem...the LYRICS suck. They are very juvenile, but then so where much of the lyrics on Mandy Moore's first album and look at her now! If not for the lyrics, I would listen to this all the time. With some good marketing behind her, Brooke could have made that breakthroughjump to mainstream. The Cinderella II songs got little to no press and Disney definitly could have helped the girl out. Lucky for her, she's still young and which should allow her to put out a second, more mature album. I'd definitly get it unless she went gospel or country. I saw the video for the Kiss Off and I do also think she tried too hard for attitude. Put it this way, if you liked Mandy's "so Real" CD, you must get this CD and I guarantee you will love it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Pop music that really pops!, April 11, 2003
This review is from: Brooke Allison (Audio CD)
Brooke's compared usually compared to Britney, Christina, or Mariah-which isn't bad; but doesn't give her all the credit she deserves. Her voice is far sweeter than any of theirs. (I bought this CD the first day I heard her voice.) Her songs make pop really pop, smooth and stylish. The instruments have a almost perfect spread in the high and low range. Really couldn't ask for more in a CD! (Which is why I was so shocked when I found more!) I popped the CD into m computer's CD drive and bang! Not only does this CD come with a music video, it's also got the making of the music video and bunch of other stuff. If you like Britney, Christina, Mariah, or just pop music in general this would probably be the second or third biggest mistake of your life if you don't buy this!

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth It, June 1, 2002

I discovered Brooke when I bought a cd and Brooke's promo cd came along with it. It had one full song and then clips of every other song on her album. Record companies should do this more often, because it definitely got my attention. The more I listened to the little promo cd the more I liked it so I went out and bought Brooke's album. She has a great voice, it's very powerful but also very unique too. She has alot of catchy, fun songs on her cd, like her single 'The Kiss Off (Goodbye)'. but putting aside all of the fun pop songs, you will find one at the end titled 'Say Goodbye'. It's a big power ballad where Brooke really shows off her voice and belts out the song. The song itself is beautiful and the lyrics are very touching. It's about having to leave someone behind and having to say goodbye. I love the bridge: 'You've got your life and you know I've got mine, but we will always be forever intertwined'. It's a great way to finish off the cd and it's my favorite song.
