5.0 out of 5 stars A blend of beauty, October 5, 1999
This review is from: Brooklyn Bank (Audio CD)
This duo of men, have created a new world of melody. It is parts ambient, drums n bass, hip-hop and any other electronic music ever thought of. It is pretty. It is intelligent. The songs go in different directions, where the only thing that matters, is journey. It is very accessible. It is soft in places, and then whoom, it is rough, then it gets dark, before it finally fades into light. Your ears deserve to hear these songs. Your brain needs to hear it. It has cool trippy lyrics with lyndia lunch, always a plus. After buying this album, look into these men's other project's "Matera," and "Phylr." This is Jazz for the new epoch!!!

The history behind this album defiles none. But it makes a pack with future artists and sounds..... 5 Stars!! Why?

lengthy sound beats in a future city of Philip.K.D.novel.more spoken on...Allen Moore....and so...so...on....

5.0 out of 5 stars SHORT REVIEW- this is a surprisingly amazing album., December 28, 2005

ok, it's phlyr from cop shoot cop and the dude from the lesser known Meathead. a colaborative effort with an all-star lineup... totally amazing. dudes from barkmarket, phylr's wife (who has an awesome voice), and a bunch of other big name players play on this record. i don't get why this didn't sell. very creative, dark and moody trip hop-py kinda stuff, with lots of heart and organic instrumentation. really cool arrangements and great songwriting. a great album from start to finish. imagine a very smart massive attack without the really stupid lame lyrics, and way better instrumentation. there you have it. buy it, it's CHEAP!!!

Here combines the talents of Cop Shoot Cop/Phylr sample wizard Jim Coleman and Meathead's Mauro Teho Teardo with contributions by various others, most notably Lydia Lunch (who wrote and sang the lyrics on several songs). They combine electro and trip hop elements and mix in unusual instruments (cellos, horns, harmonicas, etc.) to create textured songs of astounding beauty and complexity. Some songs are danceable, others are better suited for just sitting and enjoying with a drink at your side.
