The sound quality on BROOKLYN BOOGIE varies from fair to very good. Some distortion is present, as well as surface hiss and occasional pops or clicks. Again, this varies from track to track. What's most important though is that these flaws do not affect one's enjoyment of the album.
The performances on BROOKLYN BOOGIE are unquestionably top shelf. All the big names are here: Basie, Dorsey, Goodman, Kenton, James, Shaw and Prima. Big band fans will find this to be a decent set of mid-20th Century instrumental dance and jazz tunes.
