My husband wore another brand of everyday shoes for many years, but after wearing Brooks Addiction Walkers, we ordered a second pair. The comfort, support, and durability are great. They arrived timely and as ordered. If I could find a brown pair like these, I would order them today.

Don't bother looking any further for the best price/performance black walking shoe.

I have gone thru many brands and many models in the $50+ range for a black work, casual and walking shoe. My first pair of these which are over three years old still look almost new and there is remaining life on the sole. The pebble grain type leather on these shoes is amazing and just doesn't seem to wear at all or show any signs of scuff, etc. I'm 6-4, 250lbs and not easy on shoes. The run-of-the-mill black leather walking shoes in the $50-$80 range usually last me a year if I'm lucky. My second pair of these shoes I'm just breaking in and I'm ordering another pair for the future in case they discontinue this model for any reason. The few extra bucks for this much higher grade leather is a bargain. I was hesitant at first about the v-strap closure versus shoe laces but I'm used to them now and they are excellent. The flexibility to close the velcro straps loose, medium or tight is comfortable depending on the insoles used or when feet my swell in the heat, etc.

The sizing is very accurate IMO, not small which is so typical of many of today's shoes. I actually removed the included insoles and added a thinner Kroger $9 generic gel insole so there would be room for my custom plastic orthotics. The fit is very comfortable for me and I have zero issues with my previous plantar fasciitis.

This is a great shoe with top quality leather. Well worth a couple extra dollars and highly recommended. 10 stars!

Great shoe. The v-strap is quick and convenient! However,
the v-strap does not allow 'locking' the shoe down for
brisk walking. Limits you to a casual pace.

Finally found a walking shoe I'd buy again and again! Better than Rockport which had been my favorite.

The straps aren't as tight fitting as laces, and when they wear out you cannot replace them.
So unless you need straps, buy the version with laces. After a few months or so, the upper
straps have worn out. The wear is right where the fur meets the velcro pins. I can no longer
tighten the straps making the shoes rather worthless. Not worth anywhere near (...)

My husband is 59 years old and stands on concrete floors all day at work, and his feet often hurt. We have tried every possible solution, from podiatrists to inserts to gadgets from Foot Smart, to really expensive shoes from The Good Feet Store, but nothing he has tried is as good as these Brooks Addiction Walkers. He can work all day long in these shoes and never complain of pain in his feet. This is the only shoe he will wear now, and the velcro straps (instead of laces) are just a convenience bonus. I would highly recommend them based on his experience.

I purchased these shoes in February 2010, and I'd guess that I've walked nearly two thousand miles in them since. I find them comfortable and supportive for my 13 EEE dogs; I like the velcro straps and I like the fact that they are watertight. I'll be ordering another pair when these finally wear out.

These shoes came today, as soon as I put the one on that I can wear, I could tell a huge differnce. I have charcot foot and have a Crow's boot on my left foot. I put the shoe on and loved it. I even took my boot off so that I could get down stairs, I put the other shoe on and it felt great. This shoe also looks better then the other shoe I had. It makes my foot look smaller! I am a woman, and due to the swelling I have had to go to a man's shoe to get a wide fit. This shoe is a small miracle.
It feels secure, firm but not tight, and solid arch, wide heel for over pronating, yet the shoe looks great.

Arrived on time and was as described. Very good shoe with a straight last and excellent support. I plan on getting another pair soon.

I purchased these shoes to replace other walking shoes that were creating callouses on my feet. I use the treadmill for an hour a day and I need good shoes. The Brooks Addiction Walker shoes have been very comfortable since day 1, without any 'break-in' period. My callouses are now healing and I am still able to work out every day. I recommend these shoes highly.
