4.0 out of 5 stars saddle rain cover
Great item! I'd highly recommend it for those that have leather seats like me. I bought it because I bike and ride the bus to work and didn't want my Sella Italia Flight leather saddle to degrade any faster with weather abuse. The only real issue I have with it is the velcro strap on the back needs to be twisted in order to make it work correctly. Minor issue, I know...

3.0 out of 5 stars Dont tell!
It's a secret so dont tell anyone.
A shower cap works really swell for this.
Even the free ones from hotels/motels work well.
Remember! It's a secret.

4.0 out of 5 stars saddle rain cover, November 22, 2010

Minor issue, I know. It fits a little loose on my saddle but even when the bus is doing 60 down the freeway it keeps the seat dry, what more can you ask for?

4.0 out of 5 stars Not quite as shown, May 31, 2011

I ordered a medium cover and it does not look like the cover shown in the photo. My cover is solid black and does not have any logos, etc.. printed on the top. I actually prefer this b/c, as one reviewer noted, it won't be advertising your expensive saddle that lies beneath. I believe the cover in the photo is the large size b/c it is on a larger Brooks saddle (i.e. with springs). The cover fits quite snuggly, so there isn't a lot of excess material that could be uncomfortable to sit on. The material is thick and seems really durable. I think it will last a while, even if ridden on a lot.

I bought this for commuting on my B67 Brooks saddle. It's more than large enough. It's made of a tough fabric so you can ride it. There are no seams to leak. I have another one for my smaller Brooks B17 saddle, from Carradice; that one fits snugly and looks sleek. This one fits more like a shower cap but it doesn't come off. The velcro tab at the back is used for rolling it up in a tight ball and holding it that way, but it can also be used on the metal crossbar of the saddle below the springs to hold it down in back if you twist the velcro strap. It is exclusive of ornamentation: no Brooks logo like in the picture.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great, well-designed Bike Saddle rain cover, September 6, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a good-quality, well-designed rain cover for a Brooks Saddle. The one I got lacks the "Brooks" name as in the photo, but that's good--the Brooks saddles are a favorite of thieves, and I'd rather my Brooks Saddle was a little more anonymous under a plain black cover.

I use the Rain Cover every day, not just on rainy days--otherwise, I sweat and get my saddle wet, leading to premature aging of the leather over time.

I like the elastic that helps fit the cover over the front, and the little velcro strap for securing the cover to the back of the bike saddle hardware.

Don't believe that you can get by with a grocery bag or a shower cap. This cover is more hearty than either of those and it stays put. If you want to keep your Brooks saddle dry, get one.

Okay. So I could cover my $100 Brooks saddle with a grocery bag, or some el cheapo saddle cover from a 100 yen store, or something. And that might keep it dry, and protected just as well and stuff. But I didn't, I bought this saddle cover and it's the one I'm using until someone takes it from me. Or who knows.

For what it's worth it's actually a very well made saddle cover. Totally waterproof and buttsweat proof. The material keeps the surface of saddle completely dry and protected from the elements and I will continue to ride with the saddle covered during foul weather, with no compromise to comfort. Try doing that with a grocery bag.

It covers the saddle up completely, and is very incognito without a logo announcing to all saddle thieves (the scum of the earth!) that there's a Brooks underneath. I still lock my saddle to my frame anyway, but still.

It just works. Is $10 too much for a saddle cover? I don't know. But I'd definitely buy it again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Big, ideal cover, October 15, 2011
Had been looking for a cover that really keeps my butt dry when my huge, very water-absorbent saddle gets wet. This is perfect. Durable, big enough, and can easily be carried thanks to Velcro.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as their wonderful saddles, June 18, 2011
This review is from: Brooks Bicycle Saddle Rain Cover (Misc.)
I had this for my Brooks Flyer, and used it as a daily bike commuter for about a year, not riding on it, but just when it was on the rack at work. The construction of the cover itself was fine, but the elastic in the drawstring broke quickly, and a good rain would still leak up and soak the sides of the saddle even when the elastic was new and firmly in place under the lip of the saddle. It would keep it dry in the middle of the top, but soaked everywhere else. I have used a one gallon ziplock bag with better results or simply reused plastic grocery bags since the Brooks cover disappeared off the back of the bike somewhere in our local nature center. I have an Aardvark neoprene cover on the way, and I hope it works better.

It's a nice thick waterproof nylon, has a drawstring to keep it in place, and folds up nice and small. Works great on my racing saddle, even though it's not a Brooks saddle.
