Excellent shoes for IT band issues,

I had the Defyance 1 and 2 then switched to Nike and had serious IT band issues. I will never switch again! Love the defyance 3 just as much as the previous 2. This shoe provides great support and stability for runners.

Does the job, again and again.,

As a bigger runner (6'4", 215), I first tried other shoes-got a sore knee-and hit up my local expert running shop. Said shop determined I required a shoe with neutral support and put me on a treadmill to tape my stride. I am currently on my second pair of D-3s (traded the first out after 300 miles) and would strongly suggest trading them out maybe around 250 miles. I'm far from the most graceful runner, but the D-3 really gave me the support and cushioning required to keep me moving. As I utilize Nike's nikeplus system but aren't able to get the support from Nike's shoes, I simply purchased The Original Shoe Pouch for Nike + iPod, Assorted Colors for the transmitter and have experienced no issues. My feet tend to be on the narrow side and my arch is slightly higher than average. Great enough shoes that I have three waiting in the closet for when I'm done with my current pair. I knocked the score down one star because I hoped I could get more than 300 out of them. Each week sees me running about 20-30 miles.

Great shoe!,

This was my first running shoe. I am a "light" runner, as far as footfalls go. I am 5'9" and weight 165lbs. I have low arches and my left leg is a quarter inch shorter than my right, but with some orthotic insoles these shoes allowed me to run in immense comfort for 367.07 miles. They did not fall apart and the sole wasn't even worn looking, even after the cushioning had gone for me.
They have a great fitting toebox, not too loose, and they held the heel of my foot firmly in place. The heel of the shoe is quite padded and fairly far off the ground, but that's okay by me. They still felt stable and I always felt as though I had good traction when running in them. All in all they were almost perfect shoes in my book. |
