I have been wearing NB, 10 narrow, for several years. I thought I would give Brooks a try, the length seems fine, the width is way too narrow. I subsequently purchased a pair of Brooks from a local running store, 10 medium, they fit fine and feel great.

I bought these shoes for my husband to wear at recess (he's an active grade school teacher). He loves them. They are comfy but also sporty looking. They also happen to match our oldest son's shoes (who is only 7) so our son think they rock.

I am 45 years young, and have been running my entire life. This is BY FAR THE BEST running shoe I have EVER used. The cushioning surpasses other shoe technology, be it "air," "gel," "water" etc. The Defyance "2" is also an improved product over its first generation predecessor, as the toe box has been enlarged making the shoes performance even better than before. Stay competitive by staying away from shoe gimickry and Madison Avenue marketing campaigns. Stay close to companies that design and build RUNNING shoes for runners or those serious about using running to train for their chosen core sport(s).

I'm an avid runner and have been using these to train for Ironman triathlons and these are both comfortable and durable. I log quite a bit of miles and these have been my favorite shoe (this is now my second pair of this particular model)

Great shoe for the guy who is around 230 pounds.

I bought these specifically because I don't run a great deal and I am not the skinny, twigs for arms, marathon dude you see at the gym.

These shoes have helped with shin splints.

I found these on sale for $35 and had already been running in the Defyance for a year or two. I've been through well over 10 pairs of these shoes and have been pretty happy with them. I usually am able to get a solid 500 miles out of them. I tend to overpronate, so I get a fairly uneven wear-pattern on most shoes, but I find that Defyance hold up as well or better than most other running shoes that I've worn regularly. They don't feel too heavy to me for a solid distance shoe, but I would say they feel light either.

As with any running shoe, it doesn't really matter what the shoe looks like on paper if it's not comfortable on your foot. Having scar tissue on both of my heels from Achilles tendon surgery, I typically have to cut the plastic heel cup out of these shoes (and pretty much every other running shoe that I buy), but other than that, they fit me quite comfortably.

These are fine well built shoes that run true to size. Although they are airy and ventilated if dirt gets on the mesh it migrates without difficulty right into the interior of the shoe. Dirty socks and toes anyone?
