Product Description

The light, bouncy, and balanced ride of the Ghost has haunted the dreams of many competitors -- and it's about to get frighteningly good. We've taken the transition from silky to ridiculously smooth by removing the midfoot shank and creating full ground contact from heel to toe. The underfoot gets even more love with a horseshoe Segmented Crash Pad that wraps the heel from medial to lateral sides and articulates the laydown. What does all that mean? Looking as good as it feels, you'll fall in love with this friendly ghost. We're not the only people who have fallen in love: Runner's World named the Ghost 6 "Editor's Choice" in the Fall Shoe Guide in their September 2013 issue the fourth straight Ghost to earn the honor. They called out the new forefoot overlays welded on rather than stitched, but really loved "how fluidly the shoe rolls from heel-strike to toe-off." In short, the Ghost 6 offers "a sweet balance of weight, cushioning, and everyday durability" - and the editors say "The lightest Ghost we've seen leaves nothing out." Can you say "Four-peat"? Spooky good. > See the Women's Ghost 6 The Ghost 7 is now available - now with a BioMogo DNA midsole for a more flexible, lighter ride. Check out the Ghost 7 > Love the Ghost but hate running in the rain? The Ghost 6 GTX is also available. Everything you love about the Ghost, but with a waterproof, breathable GORE-TEX membrane to keep your feet dry and comfortable. No more blaming it on the rain! After a long Asics period, Ghost 5 made me switch to Brooks, I was amazed by those, and couldn't wait to try the newer model, considered by testers to be even better.

While you should take extra care to have your gait analyzed (it's free) & proper shoes suggested, I think these Ghosts would work for the majority of runners, being well-balanced in terms of
-Very decent cushioning at both heel and mid-foot (I'm a 210 lbs runner, run on concrete mostly, with mid-foot strike, and never found the support lacking)
-Elasticity- more pliable and a little lighter than the already-great Ghost 5s,
-Support/stability: I overpronate and have slightly low arches, and feel safe in these.

After 100 miles, they look a lot better than most of my shoes would at that point, other than the slight wear to the soles, no damage in sight.

I would strongly recommend buying either these or now-discounted Ghost 5s (the difference in G6's favor is ignorable compared to the pros they have in common) for your running needs, I know I'm not going back to other brands soon.

PS: I have wide feet, but not to the extent where I need to order wider shoes, and Ghosts are very accommodating in that respect too.

I've been running 120+ mi/month for the past 8 months or so and was fitted at a running store for the Ghost 5, which were a perfect pairing for me. I like a roomier toe box than most Nike shoes afford and have normal pronation with only minimal heel strike. The Ghost 5 lasted comfortably for about 450 miles and the Ghost 6 seem to have the same capability. For a moderately lightweight shoe, they have great cushioning suitable for long runs. I plan on using them for a few half marathons and full marathons this year. The only change from the Ghost 5 that I perceive is that they seem very slightly lighter than last years version, but I haven't weighed them to see. The difference is probably less than an ounce though, and probably not enough to purchase these over the Ghost 5's which have decreased in price now.

Update: I cycle through 3 or 4 pair of shoes so I've been using these for my long runs. They have 104 miles on them. On the Higdon plan I've just started hitting the double digits with the Ghost 6 and have decided that they're just not good enough for runs over 6 miles. About 6 miles in my ankles start to feel the shock of hitting the road and my feet tend to feel like they're not landing normally, almost jostling around. So, I'll be stocking up on the Ghost 5 over the next few months and hoping the Ghost 7 corrects this issue. I have to think that the midsole support that was removed this year has something to do with my issue. Still, for anyone training for a 5k that needs a bit of support, this may be the shoe for you.

Been an avid Asics runner (40+ miles a week) for 5 years. Ran in Brooks Ghost 6 for 1 week and will never look back. Great cushioning, and response. Highly recommended. Didn't know what I was missing.

After trying to like them after getting such a good deal on them at the UA Outlet store, I gave up on my Under Armour RC Charge kicks. The more I ran in them, the more stress I felt on my upper ankles. Because I am not injury prone, I decided it wasn't worth the risk to pound a square peg in a round hole.

My favorite shoe to date for my feet & strike are the Brooks Ghost line. I had the Ghost 5's & decided to order the Ghost 6's because of the price break due to the 7's being released.

They just came in last night & I ran 4 fast miles in them this morning & oh how I have missed the soft pillowy silky smooth landings of these shoes! No odd pains or ankle strains & my legs were no where near as fatigued as they had been.

Every runner eventually finds their "golden shoes" & I suppose that I have finally found mine :)

I first bought these shoes a year ago and fell in love! I was coming back from an injury (IT Band Syndrome) and bought these for the support. After wearing the soles thin I went to my specialty running store to get another pair. They didn't have my size and the salesman convinced me to buy Mizuno Wave Riders since they "were basically a different company doing the same thing." I HATE THEM! I only bought them a month ago and have already bought a new pair of Ghosts that I'm waiting for in the mail! While waiting for my new Brooks, I've been wearing my old ones with zero tread rather than the terrible Mizunos! There's no comparison to this shoe, I just love it!

Why are the best shoes always so hard to find? I became a fan of Brooks after a salesperson steered me away from a pair of Asics to the Ghost 4. I enjoyed those shoes for a couple years and they held up very well. When it came time to buy again, it was frustrating. The big sporting stores claimed to have Brooks, but it was either in limited selection or not at all. Even online, I found my size in only one style, and even though this pair of Ghost 6 are a little flashier than I would go for, the quality and comfort has been maintained. The only way to jog!

I have run for 25 years wearing just about every brand out there at different times. I recently switched to the Ghost 6 after a bad experience with minimalist shoes. The Ghost 6 are the best shoes I have ever worn. I am 6', 180#, so I am not a small runner. After one week of running in the Ghost 6, all the pains I had developed during my minimalist experience were gone! Perfect support and cushioning. Hard to imagine ever wearing anything else at this point.
