The saddle is very comfortable and works very well for me.

It was exciting to receive my latest, an antique brown B67, and to do the initial preparation of the leather with Brooks Proofide leather dressing.
Christopher
The heaviest saddle I've ever owned but I've got no regrets.

The Brooks B67 (B67S for women) is basically the best saddle available for upright (sit up) riding position. The saddle was created not for a racing position (see the B17 for that) but rather for the straight up position where most of your weight is on your sit bones and your handlewars are typically higher or close to the level of the seat. It does its job exceedingly well and there is no more comfortable saddle available than a broken in Brooks B67 for that type of riding. It would work well with commuter or urban bikes as well as with hybrid or comfort bikes. I would not use one if the seat post itself has a shock absorber though and you do need to consider the handlebar style and position to get the benefit of this saddle (no drop bars for example). If this relaxed riding style/position is what you are after then look no further for a saddle.

Saddle's are a very hard thing to review due to the fact that what fits one person may not fit another. That being said I can at least review this saddle for its quality construction and how it fits me. The construction is fantastic, the leather is high quality and the components all seem to be very heavy duty. I have gone through 5 different saddles, some of them costing more than this one and was limited to no more than about 45 minuets of riding before I could not stand it any longer. From the first ride this saddle fit me perfect. I can truly ride until my legs are tired instead of having to stop when my butt just can't take it anymore! I ride about 150 miles a week and could not be more pleased with the comfort. Plus this is a very classy upgrade to my bike.

On a note about purchasing this, I bought it from wellington bikes (google them) - they offer a 6 month return policy (!) -- makes it much less scary to order a 100.00+ bike saddle! I can tell you already that after only 160ish miles I am sure I am keeping this saddle.

Good luck and happy trails!

Bought to replace saddle that came with Surly Long Haul Trucker. Makes a tremendous difference in comfort. My LHT is setup for a very upright ride (5 spacers, drop bars), so there is more weight on seat than riders that prefer a more bent-over position. I'm also pretty heavy (220 lbs, 6ft tall), so the extra width of the B67 and springs contribute to a much more comfortable ride. Very pleased and glad I bought this model for my new LHT and planned touring use.

This was my first saddle that I ever actually paid money for. Does that mean someone didn't pay money for the ones I got from the junk pile or from Goodwill or wherever? Probably not, but if they were something truly as prized as like, a one hundred dollar saddle, I don't think they'd have made it to the junk pile. I'm rambling.

I ride upright, with big wide Soma Oxford bars on an enormous Surly cargo bike with this thing, so the saddle is just perfect for my riding posture and it conformed to my behind from day one. In fact, it required no breaking in whatsoever. I knew this saddle was the real deal when I did a ride up to Mt. Fuji (about 180km round trip from where I'm at.) and I forgot it was even there. I literally was on a saddle for like, 11 hours that day, crawling uphill for well over half of that time. I might've been on the wrong kind of bike for that kind of trek, maybe, but I sure didn't think so. What an adventure.

It really is a fine saddle and offers excellent comfort. I've treated the leather with proofride just once in it's 3000 miles of service and ride it with a saddle cover when it's raining and the thing is as lustrous and like new as the day I got it. Just a well made and invaluable piece of gear. I rode a WTB saddle before this one and it literally hurt me. Don't skimp on the saddle!

Ooh yeah, keep it secured to your bike with something and covered when you're not riding it. Just sayin'.

I could probably claim this as a medical expense! I have problems with my back, where any jarring action causes my back to seize up. Since getting this saddle I have been able to ride to work every day without issue (over a year!). I just purchased another bike, and my first accessory was to purchase another of these saddles. My older B67 has held up remarkably well for everyday use, and still gives the same support while eliminating the hard knocks from potholes. I can't imagine riding without it.

I bought this saddle for my Jamis Commuter II, a bike meant to be ridden in a relatively upright position--and what a combination they make! I'm not a pro rider: I ride only about 40-60 minutes per day as therapy for the arthritis in my kness, and for my general health. The saddle that came with the bike was very soft, cushiony, and looked well made; however, after about 15 minutes of riding, it would feel uncomfortable, creating numbness in the area between my legs.

The Brooks B67 not only solved my problem with numbness, but for some reason it also puts me a more efficient riding position. The saddle looks great, feels great (especially after a little conditioning), and makes riding more fun for me.

If you end up purchasing this saddle, I would offer a couple of tips. First, go ahead and buy the Brooks Proofide conditioner. I know it's expensive, but it really does work well. Second, get rid of your suspension seat post, if you have one, and replace with a staionary one. This saddle has springs in it, and really eliminates the need for any additional suspension. You can get a good Laprade-style stationay seat post for $15-$20 at most local bike shops.
