4.0 out of 5 stars Brooks Trance Series
Like all running shoes, reviews are 90% subjective. So just because this shoe works well for me does not mean it will work well for you.

If you are new to running, running shoes work like this: Try on a bunch, run on the ones that feel good and do not contribute to any aches or pains, and then stick with that model. These were the shoes that work for me...

3.0 out of 5 stars They were discounted.
Wearing a pair of $130 shoes may not feel like wearing $130 shoes when I pay $65 for them but it should. They feel like an average pair of running shoes that I am glad I got them discounted.

Like all running shoes, reviews are 90% subjective. So just because this shoe works well for me does not mean it will work well for you.

If you are new to running, running shoes work like this: Try on a bunch, run on the ones that feel good and do not contribute to any aches or pains, and then stick with that model. These were the shoes that work for me. I have about 1200+ miles logged into 3 pairs of these series 8 shoes. And that is the reason I am not giving these 5 stars - you should get close to 500 miles a pair. I tend to get around 300 on these till they start to lose cushion and start hurting my knees. Which is actually not bad for someone 190lbs, 6'2", mild pronation, and 5 day a week runner who does not rotate shoes.

Nice shoes, comfortable, biodegradable (nice!), being an older series replaced by the 9's (which are awesome, just not worth $50 more then these), and a decent buy at the "Today's deals" Amazon price.

One tip if you are new- buy a size larger then you think you are with ALL running shoes. I'm an 11 regular and I buy 12 regulars. Feet swell when you run and it's important that your toes do not rub/slam into the front of your shoes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than the Saucony Hurricane X, January 30, 2010

These are lighter than the Saucony Hurricane and perform very well for moderate stability running shoes. They dry out quickly and are a good value for the money. That was a lot of random comments, but overall, I really like them.

These shoes are very good. I generally like Brooks. I am more partial to the brooks adrenaline, but I think that is more of a personal preference/fit. These seem to have a very generous sized width, a plus for a lot of people.

Thank GOD.

4.0 out of 5 stars So far so good, July 30, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The first day I put on this pair for 3-mile running, I did feel better. Usually I would feel mild sourness on my knees after running. However on that day, the sourness didn't appear at all.

I have mild over-pronation. Even though later on when I put them on for running I still feel some sourness on my legs, the first day impression still makes me believe this pair of motion controllers do have some effect.

I have been using them for running and walking only for about 1 moth. So far so good.

The best pair of shoes I ever wore. These shoes are as comfortable as slippers. Their flexibility is awesome whether running or walking.

These are stylish, comfortably, light weight and durable. I wear them everyday and I love them. I knew my size because I previously owned a pair of Brooks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Comfy for wide feet, October 27, 2009

I bought these from a gold box sale, and they were intended to be normal errand shoes. They have performed amazingly for that, and while I've only run once in them, spending all day in them has never given me any leg / back pain. I am a big fan and would recommend them to anyone with a mildly-wide foot.
