4.0 out of 5 stars Great minimalist Shoe, not built for everyday training
I have narrow feet relative to the length and find that brooks neutral shoes fit me very well. I switched to this shoe at the beginning of 2009 after reading some opinions on barefoot running. 1.0 out of 5 stars Great shoe if you have pointy toes
The light weight with some cushioning made this shoe appear to be exactly what I've been looking for, but I tried multiple sizes of this shoe and found the toe box too narrow to get a good fit regardless of the size. Going up in sizes left me with too much room and anything with a normal fit smashed my toes together. Nevertheless, I liked the shoe so much that I tried...

I have narrow feet relative to the length and find that brooks neutral shoes fit me very well. I switched to this shoe at the beginning of 2009 after reading some opinions on barefoot running. I wasn't ready to take that plunge, but looked into racing flats for racing and speed training. After getting a pair, I found that I liked running in them more than the other of Brooks trainers I had. Short story, I wore through 3 pairs of them during my 2009 training. I do all my runs in them, base, tempo, track work, long runs and race in them. I didn't do a lot of mileage this year 20-45 miles a week but I have had ZERO running injuries/pain. I also feel that with the flatter heel and forefoot I have a better "feel" of my foot strike and the road. I highly reccomend this shoe if you like the brooks fit and are looking to get into a minimalist shoe.

Durability: I have a unique feature to my run gait where I roll my left foot slightly in impact which puts pressure on the left side of the toe box mesh area. All three of my left shoes have torn at the mesh in this area where it meets the footbed. I'm not really pleased with this but it is a racing flat built for speed and not durability. If not for this problem I guess I could get up to 500 miles per pair.

4.0 out of 5 stars just enough shoe, November 14, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Love this light weight racer brooks shoe. Its light enough but not super narrow like some other racing or cross country flats. Has just enough cushioning w/out crossing the line into unwanted bulkiness. I love it! Great for hitting the roads or track

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Running Flats!, September 13, 2009
I run 5Ks in these shoes and love them. My time was cut by at least 10 seconds or more (could have been my training too - I am female & usually run around 21:00 5K, training for faster times). They are so light and feel like running barefoot. I recommend to anyone running races (especially shorter races since there is not much support). I would definitely buy these again.

Going up in sizes left me with too much room and anything with a normal fit smashed my toes together. Nevertheless, I liked the shoe so much that I tried it anyway, thinking the cloth would stretch. After four five-mile runs, I'm down another toenail and have a large enough blister to really regret the purchase.
