5.0 out of 5 stars Brooks Ariel athletic shoes, September 22, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These shoes are the most comfortable and supportive shoe I have. I now own 4 pairs and intend to continue to get this product. I do wish they made them in different colors--I hate to wear white ones all year. I'd love a pair of black or gray Ariels but they don't make them. My feet need good cushioning and this shoe is really cushioned!I HIGHLY recommend it for "finicky" feet!

5.0 out of 5 stars Brooks Running Shoe, July 29, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I need the ariel shoe because of diabetes problems and wide feet. They fit very well. I was buying from a store in the town where I live @ almost double the price. I was very glad to find them on Amazon.com. The price is terrific. It is worth waiting for it to be shipped. They come within a week and I am very happy with the product, price, speedy develivery time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Shoe, September 19, 2008

I like this shoe because of the wide toe box, good arch support and superior cushioning. I'm a health-care worker, spending all day on my feet. I've had plantar fascitis and end-of-the-day foot aches for years . . but these shoes have solved those problems. I recommend this shoe.

4.0 out of 5 stars Comfy shoe for overpronators, October 30, 2007
I have flat feet and overpronate. This shoe has good structuring--I've had no foot pain, minimal knee pain, etc. while jogging in these--while remaining very comfy. I've previously had some shoes for overpronators that corrected, but were not fun for jogging, like some of the New Balance 850-something series. Other shoes that were great for overpronators--like Adidas old Equipment Ride model, got discontinued and converted into other models that weren't as good.

I bought a full size up compared to the standard high heel pump size I wear, because I wear highly padded jogging socks, and found that size worked well. I have bunions, and this shoe had a large enough forefoot to accomodate that. For most people, going up a half size is probably sufficient.

My only complaints are that 1) the first few days, the heel chafed a little--I worried it went up too high on the back of the heel. I took them off, let my feet rest a few days, wore them again, took a break, etc. and the problem went away within the first 5 or so wears. Other complaint--this shoe is boringly colored. The white and medium blue color I have does nothing for me....

5.0 out of 5 stars Great stabilizer, November 8, 2002
By A Customer
I am a nurse and my feet have put in a lot of walking time. I require orthotics now and the Brooks Ariel was recommended because of my foot problems. No problems now. No pain, no fatigue, and the Ariel was comfortable from the beginning. It has enough support even without my orthotics. I wear them 16 hours a day.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for Overpronators, December 8, 2008

I have severely flat feet and am an overpronator. I needed some motion controlled running shoes and these are the only ones that are supportive and comfortable, even with my orthotics in them. I'm on my 3rd or 4th pair and I force myself to buy a new pair every year since they never really wear down too much.

My only complaint is that they look a little dorky and they never really seem to drop in price. It's rare to find these below $100... But for what you get, it's worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars great for excessive overpronation, October 13, 2008

This is my second pair of brooks shoes and I hardly wear anything else. My ankles are crooked and overpronate leading to trips and falls. These shoes do a great job keeping me upright. Because I use my own orthotic with them, I buy a size larger than my normal shoe. The shoes were comfortable from day one and I highly recommend them.

I purchased this shoe online for my wife as it helps her with her balance ans arch support. However, the sizes seem to run very small. In most shoes she wears a 6 1/2 to 7 but in this shoe we had to return the original purchase and reorder a 7 1/2 D. Still she has trouble putting the shoes on. Once on, the shoes are excellent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable!, February 27, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I did a lot of research to find the right shoes. I am not a runner but wanted a shoe that would fit and support my feet while I walked since I have a bad knee. Amoung other issues with my feet they are also very wide so I was a little hesitant about buying a pair of shoes without trying them on first. I have not had one inch of problems with the Brooks. They fit great and are very comfortable. I did not have to go through a "break-in period" like I do with most shoes I purchase. The shoes feel like they were made for me! I will buy this shoe again!
