I used to own the Defyance 2 and I thought they were great. But when Defyance 3 became available, I expected them to be better than #2. And I was right. Defyance 3 are very light on my feet and very cushiony. They are the best running shoes I've ever owned in my more than 20 years of running life.I totally recommend them.

I always buy Brooks shoes for athletics. I have a neutral type foot which requires good cushioning and this shoes is excellent. I always buy a size larger in Brooks in order to use my orthotics with them.

I decided for my 36 birthday to train to run a half marathon. I have tried all different kinds of shoes during this past year. These are light weight and snug. They do not need to be broken in and my feet are sore but do not hurt after running more then ten miles!

These shoes are awesome - right out of the box they fit perfectly (true to size) and were totally comfortable. I wore them for a full day of play and my feet felt nothing! Running, jumping, hiking, these shoes did it all. They are also lightweight and airy (nothing worse than a heavy, hot shoe!). After a few weeks, I still love these shoes!!

This shoe fits tighter and is less cushioned feeling than the Defyance 2. It is a little stiff. I wish they would have just kept the Defyance 2. I will probably shop for a new pair of running shoes and go with another style and or brand. Don't fix which isn't broken Brooks!

Because my feet tend to roll when I fast walk, I bought a pair of Defyance for my work out needs about 2 years ago. I bought at a shoe store with an owner who recommended them, because of my specific problem. Since the shoe helped my feet and performed admirably, I invested in this new model. The Defyance 3 seems a bit stiffer (which is probably because they are new) and heavier to me. The bottom line is, I injured the top of one foot, while on an outdoor fast walk and am concerned that the Defyance 3 shoe caused or was part of the problem. I am only wearing the shoe to the gym, at this point, until my foot heals.
