5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT shoe for race-walking
I looked around a lot for a shoe that would be appropriate for race walking, and found these shoes to be perfect for me -- unobtrusive heel, light in weight, nice cushion. The back was notched well enough to not interfere with the tendon, and the toe break did not give my big toe knuckle a problem. I found that other shoes I tried (Asics, Adidas, Nike) had issues in...

1.0 out of 5 stars not so much
I was disappointed. I normally purchase Saucony but they have recently discontinued my favorite shoes. My fitness magazine reviewed the Brooks Ghost 2 and named it best running shoe for cushion, weight and arch support. I read numerous reviews that said this shoe was great, however I did not have a similar experience. Although this shoe is wonderfully light-weight, there...

I looked around a lot for a shoe that would be appropriate for race walking, and found these shoes to be perfect for me -- unobtrusive heel, light in weight, nice cushion. The back was notched well enough to not interfere with the tendon, and the toe break did not give my big toe knuckle a problem. I found that other shoes I tried (Asics, Adidas, Nike) had issues in either or both of these areas. I did develop "runner's toe" the first time I wore them which I think was a function of too much mileage before breaking them in sufficiently (just shows how comfortable they are overall). I'm looking to buy another pair as a switch-out for what I have now.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome running shoe!, June 5, 2010

Love this running shoe! The arch support is better than the original Ghost, which makes it truly the perfect shoe for me. I am a neutral runner who puts in a LOT of miles. Fits perfectly and in over a year of using these (yes, 4 different pairs of the Ghost 2), I have yet to have any problems. Very light weight, too. A perfect training shoe and great for hard workouts, too. LOVE it and wouldn't change a thing about it.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE these shoes!, January 14, 2010

I bought these when they discontinued by other Brooks shoes. I love these shoes! I have been training for a marathon and am up to 22 miles and haven't had any issues with these shoes. I didn't need any break in time though I did a couple short runs before a long run with my new pair(I have bought several of these in case they get discontinued)and I didn't have any problems. I run with several other guys and they have ankle and knee problems as well as blisters and several have lost toe nails. I haven't any of that and apparently, that's pretty amazing in training for a marathon! With my feet, I need a neutral shoe for a small ankle and these are perfect.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome shoe for running, January 7, 2010
By
I have had many ankle, foot, and knee problems - most recently a torn ACL. Having a running shoe that would provide enough support and comfort was a huge priority for me. I went to shoe specialist, who helped me to slect the Brooks Ghost model, and they have done wonders for the health of my feet, ankles, and knees. I recently purchased the Ghost 2, and they are even better. I can't say enough good things about these shoes.

The shoes are incredibly lightweight. Also, Brooks shoes are built with a curved sole, which I believe produces much smoother and efficient strides while running. The shoes are technically classified as "neutral," but I have found that they are very supportive. I need arch support, which these provide. They look and feel great. In all other shoes, my feet/ankles would really hurt after running 3-5 miles, but I can go far beyond that in these with no problems!

I highly recommend these shoes to anyone looking for good neutral running shoe!! I even wear these day to day walking around because they are so comfortable.

Of course, one of the other reviewers stated that these didn't work for their feet. All feet are different, so I'm sure they won't work well for everyone, but I can't say enough about how great they've been for me!

1.0 out of 5 stars not so much, November 21, 2009
I was disappointed. I normally purchase Saucony but they have recently discontinued my favorite shoes. My fitness magazine reviewed the Brooks Ghost 2 and named it best running shoe for cushion, weight and arch support. I read numerous reviews that said this shoe was great, however I did not have a similar experience. Although this shoe is wonderfully light-weight, there is little to no cushion support and the arch supports are awkward. It actually felt very hard and very flat to my feet with arch support that hit more toward my heel. I wore them around my house for about 2 hours before I had to take them off because they were hurting my heels, knees, and back. I will go back to Saucony products, they are the best. The Brooks are going back!
