5.0 out of 5 stars Instant Knee Surgery!
I run about 15-20 miles per week and had been a New Balance customer for 11 years. I run mostly on flat, dirt roads with the exception of some pavement and trails for tempo runs. (I wear trail shoes when I do trails and not these.) I also run on primarily dry surfaces in the Summer and some very icy and snowy surfaces during our long Winters (with the help of Yak-Trax)...

2.0 out of 5 stars WAY different fit than original Brooks Ghost
I found these shoes way different than the original ghost. They are more like the Asics 1150 in the fit and the cushioning. The toe box was too roomy, especially on top of the toes. I have a wide foot but still found the original Ghost in the "B" width a good fit. If I really wanted the shoe, I would have re-ordered a half size smaller. The reason I fell in love with the...

5.0 out of 5 stars Instant Knee Surgery!, June 23, 2011

I run about 15-20 miles per week and had been a New Balance customer for 11 years. I run mostly on flat, dirt roads with the exception of some pavement and trails for tempo runs. (I wear trail shoes when I do trails and not these.) I also run on primarily dry surfaces in the Summer and some very icy and snowy surfaces during our long Winters (with the help of Yak-Trax). Recently, my right knee had been burning/hurting a lot on my runs which prompted me to replace my shoes again. I had become unimpressed with New Balance shoes in general so I decided to try another brand. I read about 811 reviews (I joke, but I read a lot!) and Brooks seemed to be the most knowledgeable company when it came to the science of running shoes and many runners had highly recommended them. I didn't know what I was missing these past 11 years! During my first run in these shoes, I had a noticeable decrease in muscle fatigue, no hip pain and my right knee didn't hurt at all! I will never run in any other brand. I have continued to run in these shoes now for about a month and I am still very pleased with them. They made running much more enjoyable and possible for me. I do recommend visiting the Brooks website and using their shoe adviser (brooksrunning.com/shoe-advisor/ShoeAdvisor,default,pg.html) to make sure you get the correct style for your feet as I did. I have a high arch, no pronation and wider feet and these shoes fit like a dream from the moment I put them on. They may be a bit wide for someone with a narrow foot (I did not order the wide width). They are very cushy yet supportive when you run and they're truly enjoyable to run in. I was thinking there may be something terribly wrong with my knee, but these shoes eradicated that problem! I hope they can do the same for someone else who reads this review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!, May 23, 2011
On my initial trip to a local running store I purchased a pair of Asics, but when I got them home I found the toe area to be much too close to my foot. I returned them the next day for the Brooks Ghost 3. It was such a great decision!

These shoes are lightweight, comfortable, and very cushioned. They are perfect for a neutral runner. The mesh on the top keeps feet cool while running, and the gel in the heel of the shoe makes for a much lower impact. My knees have never felt better! I HIGHLY recommend this shoe!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Comfortable!, June 17, 2011

This is my second pair of Ghost 3s. I got the first pair at a running store and was fitted for them. When they finally wore out, I decided to check on line and sure enough I found them here at Amazon. I like how these feel; they are wide enough not to pinch or bind. While other athletic shoes made me feel like I couldn't wait to get them off, I can wear these all day with complete comfort. I hope they keep making this model because I intend to keep buying them!

5.0 out of 5 stars Favorite Brooks yet!, January 7, 2011
By
I've tried many other running shoe brands and always end up back with Brooks, and I have no idea how many pairs of Brooks I've busted through.
After several weeks recovering from plantar fasciitis I treated myself to a new pair of shoes and after 2 weeks with these I've had no pain whatsoever. The neutral support is perfect. I can already tell that the Ghost 3 will be my go-to for the future.
They have really great traction as well and have been excellent while running up and down the steep hills and slick sidewalk here in rainy midwinter Seattle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Greatest shoe ever, September 17, 2011

Comfort +. Love the shoe. Bought many pair of running shoes/inserts looking for the perfect fit.
Now I can run with no tingling in my feet. I have corrected my foot strike wearing this shoe. Had to go up 1/2 size .

5.0 out of 5 stars Great shoe for high arches, August 7, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Have had these for about 2 months. Best running/athletic shoes that I have ever had. I have worn, or tried on, every major brand. I am a "supinator"-I have high arches and roll my feet outward. I do not need orthotic inserts with these shoes.

My shoe size is a womens, Size 9M. I ordered these in a 9.5 wide. I was fitted at a New Balance store and they said I needed a size 10 M but I found my heels slipped out of size 10's.

NOTE: I have not been able to run because of knee surgery so I cannot evaluate these shoes for "running".

This is my first Brooks "Ghost" shoe, though I've been a customer of the Brooks Glycerin 6 for three pairs. Overall, its a great shoe: no blister problems, feet not too hot, good support. I'll be getting a second pair of these.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Shoe, September 11, 2011

I have been running for the last 7 years on the Asics Gel Nimbus. Per a recommendation from Fleet Feet running store I gave the Ghost a try. I love the shoe and the price is even better.

My daughter has been a high school cross country runner for seven years and she has tried many shoes. These are her very favorite. When they are a great price like this, I stock up!

2.0 out of 5 stars WAY different fit than original Brooks Ghost, October 25, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The reason I fell in love with the original Ghost was that there seemed to be extra firm cushioning along the ball of the foot, which helped on the long runs when I used to get hot spots. The Ghost 3 does not have that same sole. It is a 5 point sole instead of a 2 point sole. Overall, it is a good neutral cushioned shoe, jsut not for me. I am sending these back and ordering the original Ghost while I can. I will also try the Ghost 2 which has the same sole as the original Ghost. Happy shopping!
