These shoes are specifically made for overpronator's like myself. And when you first put them on they feel like your old tennie's that you've had forever. That's how comfortable they are. There is no "breaking them in". A Great Shoe for runners of any level.

I am a pretty serious runner for over 20 years. A couple of years ago I came down with a hip injury due to running and having many kids. I was unable to run and was devastated. My sports therapist recommened these running shoes, and I have been relatively pain free ever since. I have known several other women with ankle and knee injuries, who had to stop running due to injuries. Their sport therapists recommended these shoes and they are now injury free. These shoes may not be meant for everyone, but they have sure helped me and some of my friends. I love this sport and am so grateful I found these Brooks!!! Well worth the money. They cost less than one doctor's appointment!

I had the Trance 5 and loved them. They carried me through a half marathon. I then switched to Asics for the next 5 months and started feeling some leg fatigue and knee tenderness. Did another half marathon in these and they were ok. I went back to the Trance series with the 6 since they were on clearance in my size. Sure you aren't buying these shoes for looks, but as a workhorse shoe for more serious runners these are it. Heavier than a lot of shoes but the stability is necessary for me. Shoes are totally a personal choice so it depends on your body. My first run in the T-6, I stumbled on a rock trying to duck a tree branch and these shoes saved me an ankle sprain. Hope they never end the Trance series, I have found nothing that compares to the padding and stability while still having flexibility. Nice venting in toe box, very well padded ankle, which is awesome for those of us with narrow ankles. Can't wait for the Trance 7s. DO NOT BUY THESE SHOES IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A WALKING OR AEROBICS SHOE, they are stability running shoe and do not have the flexibility.
